Looks like the price went back up, but keep checking if you want it. camelcamelcamel shows the price has dropped low 3 times in the past two days.

I can't believe I ordered these...I guess they'll keep for 2-3 years. :) I'm assuming they won't be good for my 3 year old DDS. But that was a great deal, and people seem to love them.

I just placed an order. Honestly, I've never heard of the series, but we love books in this house. I've got a 10 year old who loves to read, but I'm sure she's too advanced for these. She'll probably want to read them anyway. DD2 starts kindergarten next year. I'll hold onto them for her. :)

Thanks. I just ordered these for my 5.5 YO DD who is really getting into Junie B. June lately and i am just not a fan of JBJ. Is anyone else with me on this? I hope Ivy/Bean are more wholesome and don't use words like stupid, fat, etc.

Many thanks! Jen

DS1 really enjoyed these. I might get them just because he runs out of books so quickly!

Thanks.

So your son liked them? Are they good for boys then?

Thx, OP! I jumped on the bandwagon, as well, for my DD who'll turn 6 in a few days. She's just starting chapter books, so we'll see how these go. Also contemplating buying another set or two to give as gifts. Thx!!

He did like them and picked them out at the library to bring home. But, he's 7 and does not like Star Wars, Magic Tree House, and other typical things. But, he did like them.

We've read the first three from the library, and my son (almost 6) also likes them. He like Magic Tree House as well, but doesn't generally like more stereotypical boy things.

Got my order today. The box sleeve holding the books was torn on the top and the bottom - right at the seam. I didn't notice it until we took all the books out. DH and I gently taped it back together but it's still a bummer. Maybe from the weight of the books + Amazon's poor packaging. Did anybody else get a defective set?

I haven't gotten my set, but I would say that more than 50% of the books I have ordered from Amazon in recent months have been torn, bashed or otherwise defective and most looked like they were shipped that way. I have not been impressed! But you can return it for free and they will send you a replacement.

There have been a few articles recently about the bad conditions and pressure for Amazon warehouse workers.... this is the latest: http://motherjones.com/politics/2012/02/mac-mcclelland-free-online-shipping-warehouses-labor
