I have about 6 old cell phones and their chargers in a bag and I want to get rid of them. Most don't work but a couple still do but aren't on a plan. What is the best thing to do with old cell phones?
Thanks

i dont know the name of the organization, but our friend's boy scout troop collects them and recycles them to elderly and low income folks to have a way to contact 911.

yeah, or check in your local radio shack or cell phone store - many have a re-do sort of program for elderly or women at risk for battering or what have you to be able to call 911 only. just drop them in the barrel. :)

I was in BestBuy this week and at the entrance they have bins to put them in for recycling. HtH :)

Please donate it to an organization that can use it! Here's one that I have sent phones to - they are donated or recycled and the money goes to environmental causes.

Donate or freecycle the working ones. Take the others to a recycling spot.

I have donated old phones to domestic violence organizations (other organizations collected them for that purpose).

My daughter's preschool asked for old phones because the kids love to play with them. I had a bunch in a drawer that I had no idea what to do with and they were so happy to get them.

Me too! One of the favorite dramatic play items!

I think that Target collects them too. So do some schools to recycle or give to troops overseas.

Save one for a "new" toy for travel/plane rides if your kids are young enough to be amused by the novelty. Charge it in advance and set it on airplane mode.
