No one is looking for spring clothes?!

I knew it! Fall/winter shopping is more fun! ;)

I like this:

http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/product.do?searchCID=4016&cid=4016&vid=1&pid=249467&scid=249467002

But have no clue where one would wear that to here and I think it's overpriced.

I love this:

http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524446440 632&afsrc=1&site_refer=GGLBASE001&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=8033781824192

But it is so spendy!

Arivecchi, I can see why. You are a total boot and sweater gal pro, lol! :) I'm sure you would look beautiful in spring dresses as well. Is it the colors that you aren't used to? I guess I feel like I remember seeing a lot of pics of you wearing earthy and darker colors, and never anything brighter colored and nothing pastel.

Yes, I mostly have a neutral palette. :)

I am hoping some will post some fun spring ideas here. I would like to add some color to my wardrobe but I am just not that into looking at spring clothes!

Maybe because there is no Spring here? :rotflmao:

Probably! We definitely do not get much wear out of spring clothing!
I edited the thread and changed the topic to spring clothing instead of just dresses.

I'll play!!

That max mara dress is stunning!

On the cheaper side...
These two tops from Ann Taylor Loft are fun and hide the mummy tummy well

For shoes:
Cole Haan does a version of these every year, haven't seen this year's yet, but these are on sale at Norstroms right now (orangey red, white, black)
Air Melisa
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/cole-haan-air-melisa-thong-sandal/3290082?origin=category&resultback=1030
Last year's was called "Air Maddy" and is worth every penny. The platform lengthens legs and is beyond slipper comfortable. "Better than barefeet"

Also like these Tory Burch glitter flats- not sure if they're springy enough

And this Tory Burch tote:

You are right, fall is so much more fun to shop for than spring! Plus I blew all my wardrobe budget on all the fall clothes and now I'm not supposed to be buying more clothes for a while, so it's going to make it tough to do anything new for spring. Plus, pastels don't look that good on me so I will have to stick to autumn colors in spring clothes. But orange is in this spring, which is great!

Here's a couple of spring dresses in my wardrobe I am excited about:

Jason Wu for Target dress with yellow belt (copy of Michelle Obama's look)
White House Black Market ink blue cardigan
Ugg Hazel sandals
Kate Spade orange slice straw bag

Eliza J yellow floral sheath dress--I bought this several months ago on sale at the Rack online, but haven't had a chance to wear it because it seemed like more of a "spring" dress. But now that it's warming up I can't wait to wear it!

Spring doesn't have to mean pastel! What I would get for spring dresses if I could (fantasy shopping):

Well, my choices are less chic and more suburban mom who anticipates a lot of standing around at t-ball, but I ordered these during the recent Lands End F&F sale:

(I think this will work well in lieu of a light jacket for weekend running around)

http://www.landsend.com/pp/womens-leather-belt~233428_59.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::ADH&CM_MERCH=IDX_women-_-accessories&origin=index

(Just wanted a casual basic belt in this color brown)

and I am absolutely salivating over this handbag, but have not pulled the trigger (in chestnut):

Goldenpig, I like the orange structured dress! Hillview, I saw that TB dress last night on the saks site. I like it too!

If I lose 20lbs then I will be ready for spring clothes. For the first time in a long time I decided that I can't stand my winter wardrobe either and usually I just much prefer fall/winter clothes to spring and summer stuff.

Love the trench coat, but that would never get used here in So Cal in the spring. Might work for the days that there are no rain. One nice thing about So Cal is being able to buy spring stuff that everyone else buys during the normal spring season on clearance in mid summer or early fall to wear here.

Cute dress. Bet it looks great on you!
Agreed, but why oh why does the dress have to have pockets? I just don't get pockets in dresses at all. I won't even try on a dress if it has pockets, esp. slit pockets on the side.

That is beautiful! If I were to get that I would be getting that in the orange. Love it!

Anyone want to help me pick out a couple of rewards in spring clothes? I hate, hate, hate to exercise. Well, except I like walking so I do that all the time. But I need to establish a habit of doing some core work and some upper body work. I have decided to set some very small goals and establish some rewards for meeting them.

(Goals are to find SHORT routines for each that I can alternate doing at home and then to keep it up for seven days and then for twenty-five out of thirty days.)

So I'd like to find a fun reward for approximately $25 and another for approximately $100. I don't have anything in particular in mind. Maybe a top that goes with jeans but is nicer than a t-shirt for the $25? And maybe shoes for the $100?

Any and all suggestions welcome!

Thanks,
Catherine

I actually am anti-pockets on dresses too, and I'm pretty sure they changed the photo, or I doubt I would have given it a chance. But they don't gap open at all, I can't tell they're there. I remember when Jennifer Hudson's Oscar dress had pockets I thought it was so dumb.

A, I am so sorry, but I just can't participate in this yet. We've been getting snowstorms all week and although I know the spring collections are in the stores - even here! - it's just something I can't wrap my mind around at this point. I'm battling snowdrifts, big puddles, and warm temps all at the same time. It's harder than you might think.

At this point, my style choices revolve around...outerwear that is weather-appropriate, yet doesn't make me pass out (Uggs w/o socks!), how to wear pants that don't get soaked/ruined in the horrible freeze/thaw puddles (Hunters to the rescue!), and pants that are streamlined enough to tuck into boots. Also, like you, I've always been more of a fall/sweater person.

Please come back to me in May. Or June. We don't get much of a spring here :( It sucks. But it is what it is. As a fashion sensitive person, I'm not saying I'm happy, but I recognize that I have to adapt to my climate.

I dragged the kids over across town to an area where the consignment shops always yield great finds. I just had to post my finds. All stuff is either NWT or excellent condition (no wear). I dry clean any item that is dry clean only, and wash the other items. Everything is just like new then. Sorry for the lack of pics:

Boden faux wrap dress (aqua dot) $16.80
Ann Taylor Loft Black dress--knit with faux wrap $15.20 (very figure flattering)
NWT Mossimo orange knit skirt $6.80 (thick, structured knit with slimming piping)

H&M olive green knit T-shirt dress $10 (nice, easy summer piece)
J Crew denim pleated skirt $16
Fossil brown leather embossed belt $12 (thick, great w/jeans)
Halogen Ink blue knit pencil skirt (nice, thick structured knit) $12
NWT Athleta burgandy fold over skirt $12
Moth cream knit top, sleeveless, has colored flower appliques on top $12

I love wearing green in the spring......pastel colors wash me out if I don't have some color to my skin, so I usually stick with jewel tones 'till I've been out in the sun with the kiddos a few times.

I am so getting this sandal!

Orange or brown?

These are two of my favorite colors. LOVE them both. I would say the orange, but the brown's more practical, so I guess it depends how much use you want to get out of them or how many things in your wardrobe will go with the orange.

I love the orange but worry it's just not practical. The brown does not seem to have the same oomph. :)

I bought a bunch of stuff last spring *right* before I found out I was pregnant with DS2 and it has all sat lonely and unworn in my closet since then. I think some of it will fit soon, and since I am a new SAHM focusing on living frugally, I will be shopping in my closet this spring!
:cheerleader1: I've done the same thing for several seasons - tried to make new outfits, etc. The coolest thing, though, is to invite some friends to clean out their closets and have a clothing swap. It's great to get free stuff from your friends and clear out the stuff you don't want anymore!

I'd get the orange. It's a great pop of color with most neutrals...black, white, brown, navy, khaki. I think you could also wear them with other brights (love orange with bright blue...but maybe that's because I'm surrounded by Gator fans) and maybe even with shades of pink or red (in keeping with the color blocking trend).

Full disclosure...I did go to Syracuse, whose one "official" school color is orange.

Orange does go w/ a number of colors, and you do have the brown Ugg sandals already...

I like shopping my closet too. I've been thinking of trying to organize a clothing swap in my neighborhood.
