Nonfiction book recommendation for 10 yr. DD

I am looking for non-fiction book recommendations for my
10 yr. old daughter. She needs to read a non-fiction book
for school. Biographies are not allowed.

Anything by Nic Bishop, a wonderful non-fiction author take amazing pics...Spiders is great.
Look in the library at award winning non fiction books and see what they have.
I can't think of anything else off hand, I would recommend taking dd to the library and let her browse and see what appeals to her, it really depends on her taste.
