I have a gift card from Nordstrom for a large sum, but there's nothing I want or need from there. I don't need clothes, etc. We will *need* furniture after we move. Is there any way to transfer this gift card (without losing any money off of it) for a gift card at, say, Restoration Hardware? Are there people who buy gift cards for cash (again without losing any money off the card)?

ETA: The gift card wasn't actually a gift. It's a credit - but they put credit on those same gift cards, too.

I used to have a boss who gave me a Nordies gc for Christmas each year since they refunded balances unlike Macys (his other choice) which did not.

I don't know if Nordstrom has changed their policy or if they will not refund as this was a credit. Did you ask at Customer Service?

I just called CS right before I saw your message. They will split the balance into two cards, and a friend of mine will buy one card off of me. Maybe I can find someone else to buy the other card.
