Yep! Today was one of those days (started out great, then went downhill after lunch when DS WOULD NOT take a nap- he's 17 months and got up really early today, so he really needed one)!

So we had a snack and went out for a walk (partly hoping the kids would fall asleep, but they didn't). Then I turned on the t.v. and folded some laundry and vacuumed while DH was making dinner. Then he took them for a drive- I have about 10 more minutes of peace & quiet to myself! :boogie:

Hugs! Hope tomorrow is better for all of us!

...keep things simple.
If it's supposed to be bath night, then we'll skip it.

I let the kids watch tv.

Most likely these nights are nights where DH works late, so I won't even cook (leftovers or something from the freezer), or if I do, it's something easy.

This is horrible for my waistline, but I usually treat myself to something yummy (or a beer or glass of wine) after the kids go to bed on nights like that.

Let the kids watch a movie.

Mommy gets a glass of wine. (we're talking after 5 here, not at noon!)

Take a long bath even if it's not bath night
Bake something
Do a craft
Go for a walk or run to the store to pick up an item or two, just to get out of the house
(In the summer) Go outside to water the garden
Take out a toy or game that's been in storage/hasn't been played with recently
Call family or friends on Skype

Laugh.

On those days where everything wrong seems to happen, to me it just gets SO ridiculous that I laugh, and that usually puts everyone in a better mood to make it through the rest of the day.
