View Full Version : UPDATE #2 Can you spare a few P&PT's for my dog

Update 2: The biopsy results are back. I have no clue what he said when he told me the type of tumor but the first word was malignant and I shut down from there. However, it was something originating in the hair follicle and is some slow growing non-invasive type. If the margins are clear the dog is considered cancer free and we know the margins are clear. So, the Dr. said she will be fine. It's my birthday today and this is the best present (and only) I could have gotten. Thanks again for the good thoughts, the BBB comes through again!

She's home! The Dr. said the tumor was HUGE. The part on her skin was maybe 2 or 3 inches in diameter, her scar is about a foot long. I had no idea, I feel awful about it. She's miserable and has to be penned so she can rest. I will update aging when the pathology comes back.

Thanks again for the good thoughts, keep them coming for no cancer and a quick recovery. :)

I've been a nervous wreck since last Friday when I talked to the vet. One of my dogs has a huge, infected mass on her side. The vet basically said it's cancer and needs to be removed. We did a fine needle aspiration yesterday and the report just came back showing aplastic septic something or other but no cancer! The surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and he's still saying there is a possibility a tumor is in there somewhere.

Any good thoughts you can send our way for an easy surgery and no cancer would be greatly appreciated. I've told almost no one IRL because I can't deal with it. This dog means the world to me.

PP&T for your dog. My dog had a tumor removed a few years ago from her front paw and she is doing just fine now so even if it is the big C she could still be fine afterwards. Good luck.

My dog got a big thing on his chest that got necrotic and infected and I didn't notice until he was licking it all the time. Just they way his fur/skin was made it had to see, boy did I feel guilty! Turned out it was a completely benign tumor. It came back years later and had to be removed again, but he did well for years after. I hope you have a similar outcome. Just FYI, you may not know right away if they have to send the specimen out for pathology.

Oh I know the waiting will continue until they're done with the pathology, ugh! I'm glad yours turned out benign.

I dropped her off this morning and lost it as they led her to the back. I'm kind of pissed because a different Dr. that i don't know is doing the surgery. I didn't even meet her. They're doing her first though so hopefully I will hear from them soon.

Thanks again, everyone.
