Each year the PTA does a silent auction to raise money. Each grade level has to put together two baskets to be auctioned off. This year our baskets are:

1. Dog (toys, gift cards, bowls, etc.) I don't want to donate to this one because there are so many variables - size of dog, what toys dog likes, etc.
2. Legos

I feel like the lego basket will get fewer donations and those that are sent will be the mini figures and smaller sets, maybe a few giftcards from the lego store. Because of that I wanted to get something a bit more unique. So, I was looking around on amazon and found a few things that were really cute but wasn't sure if they'd go over well --

Lego holder - http://www.amazon.com/Neat-Oh-LEGO-ZipBin-Fighter-Carry/dp/B004PAHKJA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=I28ZK4M2UQIB5&colid=12WBUI9FE5DQN

Mini-fig ice cube tray (not prime though!) - http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Minifigure-Ice-Cube-Tray/dp/B003AGSG0C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331269399&sr=8-1

Brix candy - http://www.amazon.com/Candy-Blox-Blocks-5-Lbs/dp/B00521CSVG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1331269399&sr=8-3

My goal is to stay around $15 - $20 or less. Any other ideas? What could I include that would get you to bid higher for this basket?!

Aren't there some etsy sellers who make Lego shaped soap? Cute and not too expensive. . . .

We aren't a Lego family so I'm not much help. Are there some basic sets that aren't meant to make a specific thing? And base plates? Something that might make it enticing to someone whose kid is just getting into Legos?

mini figure key chains-DS is always drooling over them
base plates
do you have a lego store? If so one of those cups that you can fill with random stuff might be fun-maybe one of car stuff and one of house stuff?
I second the lego soap. I've also seen lego candy

Was going to say the ice cube mini figures... but then read what the PP wrote and have to say the the base plates are a great suggestion. Those would have universal appeal for any family that likes legos. Plus the bases would look nice in the basket.

I like the holder (& they could use that as the basket to display everything in, right?) The other stuff is a little gimmicky for my Lego guy. I'd just go to Walmart/Target & see if they have any sets in the clearance section. I know our W has a Zurg set DS & I are eyeing in the clearance section that would be within your price range....

how about a lego clock? if you could get a BN coupon, it would be within your price range.

I like the holder idea and LOVE the ice cube tray. Either would be cool, imo.

I don't know if you have a Walmart nearby, but I found the large yellow sorter heads (like this http://www.amazon.com/Blip-Toys-Lego-Sort-Store/dp/B004E7T2SQ) on clearance for $10. Yes-I bought all they had!
