We are purchasing our first convertible car seat. We are deciding between the Marathon and the Boulevard. Why did you choose one over the other? What do you like or not like? TIA

The main difference is the Blvd has better side impact protection. The small cost difference was worth it to me. Here is a link that compares the two seats. http://www.britaxusa.com/car-seats/fit-my-child/compare.aspx?ID=33,34&f=d

We chose the Blvd for the head wings, I felt he'd be even more protected. DS is also a big car napper (still is at 4 yo) and he's comfier with big headwings that keep his head from flopping sideways or forward, since he rests his head on them.

My DS is almost 12 and still very much a "car baby." His Britax booster (don't remember the model name) had the "wings," too, which were comfy for naps as well as extra-safe. I would definitely lean towards the Blvd for that feature.

I am so happy with the Blvd. I love the headwings.

The head wings in the boulevard are great. More SIP and no head flopping during naps.

We had an old style Marathon with DD1 she fought me on that seat from the time she was about a year old until she was 2/1/2. She was just plain uncomfortable in it for some reason. I said after that I would not get another Marathon so for DD2 we got her a BLVD, and the headwings are great.

Thanks for all of your help. Definitely going to get the Boulevard unless someone tells me some reason I shouldn't. Thanks again.

I have the marathon, and we are very happy with it. My good friend has the boulevard, and she complains about getting her DD in and out with the headwings. If money is not a concern, I would say why not go for the boulevard and the headwings. But i would not feel bad getting the marathon. It's a great seat.

I too have the Marathon. I think at the time, I looked at the BVD- and then Target had a great clearance on their MA patterns, so I got 2 MAs for our cars for like 160 each. I remember that the BLVD had the big wings- but the price was much more - like over $100 more for that seat.

We have been very happy with our MA!!! DD has been in that seat, for almost 3.5 yrs (she's a little over 4) and frequently falls asleep- never had head issues!

I think either choice would be a good one!

GL!
