Frontier alternatives?

I need to replace car seats due to a minor accident. Right now DS1 is 7yo and in a Frontier (the original kind), and DS2 is 4.5 and in a FF RA. THe only thing that annoys me about the Frontier is the twisty straps. (I have a Graco Nautilus for DS1 travel because the Fr is too much of a brick for me to carry on my backpack when I travel, also considering but reluctant to consider a booster for travel for him and still use harness at home, but don't think I should ever jeopardize safety!!)


I am considering getting Frontiers for both of them. What alternatives should I consider? I used to do all my car seat research on this board. I didn't see a lot recently. Are there other places I should look?

The newer wider Frontier just looks huge...

The newer frontiers are just as big, but I think the straps are less twisty (in my experience anyway--I have one of each).

Yeah, way less twisty straps on the new models. Even the replacements I got for my old 80 were a huge improvement, but the 85 are terrific.
