Help me dress for Easter, it will be DS's First Holy Communion.

Which shoes and purse go better with the dress? The red shoes and purse, or the black shoes and purse?

TIA!

I'd go with the black shoes for sure. Could go either way on the purse.

All black is way to somber for the occasion. Red doesn't seem totally appropriate for family, day time events (lOve the combo for a night out).

Bare legs, nude shoes, a spring colored cardigan and a black purse would be my choice. Or, DSW has some cute Steve Madden flats in fun colors like watermelon and teal patent- id consider those.

I have to agree. I would ditch the opaque tights and consider the colorful flats and cardigan idea.

I agree that the opaque black tights are too somber. It's spring! Nude peep-toe and a print purse maybe?

I like the black, but I think I would spring up the outfit a bit, but I know here in CA it might be a little cooler than normal so I think it is out of habit to go with tights and flats even though it is spring.

Thank you for your input! Hm, nobody like the red shoes, and not the opaque tights.

What if I go with sheer nude tights? I don't feel dressed up without tights :-)

Off I go to look for nude shoes, or pink, or fuchsia? I don't seem to be able to wear ballet flats, and I cannot wear heels higher than about 1.75 inches. Finding shoes is always a challenge for me...

Hm, how about this shoes in pink?

I don't know if it is clear from the picture, but the lining under the lace is pink.

TIA!

I agree with the others, perhaps a brighter cardigan and nude wedges might make it look lighter and more spring-like.

What about something like these:
White House Black Market Cropped Pointelle Cardigan in Rouge (http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/store/browse/product.jsp?maxRec=21&pageId=1&productId=570042635&viewAll=true&prd=Cropped+Pointelle+Cardigan&subCatId=cat7059289&color=&fromSearch=&inSeam=&posId=4&catId=cat210001&cat=Tops+Cardigans++Sweaters&onSale=&colorFamily=&maxPg=1&size=)(pink)

i agree with PPs about springing up the outfit but for Easter, the occasion screams brights/pastels and black just doesn't seem to fit.

I love the NineWest Power Surge wedge, but the 2.5" wedge is too tall for me. I need it to be 1.5" or 1.75" max, and wide. See why I don't have many shoes? :-)

Thank you.

Negatory on the pink. Senior citizen territory, IMO.

He...he... thanks for the input. OK, so the search continues, how about this (in fuchsia)? (I am still looking for nude shoes as well, but I think I got some suggestions about bright colored shoes).

Sorry. ;)

ETA: Those Cole Haans are cute, and the "tango red" would work better than the color red of your other shoe, especially with a nude leg. Lots of other nice colors too. I might snag a pair!

Ooh, just posted on the other "what shoes" thread:
http://www.zappos.com/product/7795003/color/350741

Heel looks low enough; lots of good colors.

Ah, the Cole Haan Air Tali looks good and the heel is not too high... I have to see if I can find it at the outlet store near here.

Thank you!

So... bare legged with peep-toe, right?
Better to get Cove or Beet? Cove probably goes with more clothes, right?

If you want a neutral shoe, I would get Cove, Cream Snake, or even the White Gold.

TwinFoxes, no on the pink AngelSteps, and on the pink Soft Style or no pink at all? Just curious... as you can see I am fashion-challenged :-) Just in case the Cole Haans doesn't work. I can try on tons of shoes and still not getting a pair to keep, so I am keeping several alternatives.

Thank you all for being so kind and patient!

I think there are cute pink shoes out there, but those two pair did lean old lady. I think a lot of pink shoes can look old lady or bridesmaid, but not all.

since shoes are so difficult (believe me, I know how that goes!!) maybe it would be easier to find a new dress? Something a little more spring-ish that could be worn with either pair of shoes you already showed?

And quite honestly might be a cheaper alternative, plenty of dress sales this week before Easter!!!
