Update:

I ended up getting two pair!
Paige skinnies
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/paige-skyline-skinny-stretch-ankle-jeans-optic-white-wash/3259793?origin=keywordsearch&resultback=0

And J. Brand Boot cut
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/j-brand-janey-slim-bootcut-jeans-snow-wash/3232895?origin=keywordsearch&resultback=117

I knew I wanted the skinnies so I could wear them with more casual things, including flat, but I felt like I could not leave the store without those J. Brand Ones. My legs looked a mile long! And they are so soft and comfy. I also liked the J Brand skinnies (the 811's - on sale at Piperlime right now!) but they were just so unforgiving. You could really see every lump and bump in my legs through the pants. But if you have great legs, I would recommend trying those out.

I had a little mishap yesterday, where I cut my finger and bled onto the Paige ones but thanks to the BBB advice, they are looking fine now!
-----------------------------------------------
I am once again searching for a great pair of white pants.
Last year I ended up with a pair of straight-leg white pants from Boden, but they just don't fit me right. For one they are a bit big and then I think the rise is too high or my waist to hip ratio is off or something.
I want them to wear with t's, flowy tops, tunics, etc. Sort of like my jeans of summer. :)
I guess I want a skinny style (although maybe I want looser fitting flares too)!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Should I maybe just look for white jeans by Seven or another similar designer?

I feel like the white pants are hard because they can't be too thin- there is just a lot of potential for them to not look right.

You seem to have the figure to pull of the same brand Kate Middleton wore when she met with the British field hockey players. I think there is a debate over the brand, but most say J Brand.

Of course, I don't know if those are see-through or if you wanted skinny jeans, but they're worth a try if you want to spend that much.

I got my first pair of white pants since having DD1 from the Limited. Mine are actually capris though and are not skinny legs though, but I know they had some skinny ones last year.

I really liked the ones I got at the Limited last year. I was really picky about pockets and they had the best.

Do you all think a pair of white jeans/pants are a staple? I'm considering looking for a pair to wear with summer tops (just got a Boden top that would go great with white). I have a pair of white pants that fit really well - but they are totally see-through on me because of my darker skin, so now I'm thinking jeans...

I think so. They look great with colorful tops (especially cool prints) and wedges or flat sandals.

I tried on a zillion pairs, and then saw the Kut from the Kloth ones at Nordstrom written up as the perfect pair this spring. They are perfect. (Having said that - if you're small waist/larger hips you may need to have them taken in a little at the waist. NOT my problem, which is why I *really* liked them.)

I got these from J. Crew last year...
http://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/denim/toothpick/PRDOVR~36113/36113.jsp
they do have a 28" inseam...perfect for me, ankle length on anyone taller

And bought these at Gap several years ago...
http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=48595&vid=1&pid=136348&scid=136348002
although I don't think mine are quite as high-waisted as the newer version of the Long & Lean

I got these from J Crew last year and have been very happy with them:

I also purchased this Alice + Olivia pair a few years ago and have really liked them:

I think white jeans are easier than pants, b/c the material is naturally thicker and less see through. I have a pair from Michael Kors that I like, but the waist is quiite large for me. I have another pair of curvy fit wt. Jeans from the Gap, but i think the rise is a little low for my muffin top. So, no perfect pair for me yet. I heard one big thing to look for in white trousers is to make sure the pockets don't show through.

I really like white jeans. They instantly make an outfit more springy, and are nice on cooler summer days/nights.

Ooh, those might be a good choice for OP. I tried on a blue pair of matchstick jeans, and really liked them. I'm not a skinny jean person. I think they are more of a straight cut. The rise is a bit low, but it works with the cut.

Thanks everyone! I am thinking jeans is probably what I want. I don't think I have ever Made a j. Crew online purchase before but I think I might want to give those a try. What is their CS like? I am intrigued by the Kate Middleton J. brand ones too. Saw her in People magazine in the coral pair. ;) I only have one pair of theory pants but I have literally had them for over 10 years! Might be time to check out a new pair and if they fit really well, i know it would be worth it.

Are these the J. Brand ones I wonder?
I guess we can't all look like Kate Middleton. :/

My faves were a thicker textured cotton pair from Kate Spade. They are dressier than jeans but not as transparent as so many others. They were last season.

:yeahthat: I just got a pair of the white Kut from the Kloth Diana skinny jeans. I normally wear a size 4 in pants, but sized up to 6. I was told to size up on white skinny jeans because it looks better with a slightly looser fit.

And I also have a pair of white bootcut jeans, the Paige Hidden Hills (I hemmed them to wear with the Ugg wedge sandals):

Elektra, you would look SO great in white jeans (you'd never look like a KK!)! I'm surprised you don't have any already--such a SoCal summer staple! Get a pair and that beachy Anthro top I suggested and you're all set!

Thanks for the pics goldenpig! Both pants look really good on you and good to know about sizing up.

I do currently have 2 pairs of white pants- the Boden ones I mentioned and a pair that looks similar to what TxCat posted- the Alice + Olivia ones. Neither fits me now though.
The Boden ones still work to some degree but I don't' love them and they get super stretched out after minimal wear.

I agree, white bootcuts tend to look nicer/dressier. I mainly wanted to get a pair of white skinnies so that I could have something to wear with flats when I'm on the go with the kids. Bootcuts are a little less practical and kind of a hassle because you have to hem them for a certain heel height (usually heels look better with bootcuts/flares), whereas skinnies you can wear with both heels and flats.

love them both. The Paige ones seem like a cross btwn skinny and true straight, so not super tight in the calves, which I like. Do they come to the ankle on you? The J Brand look great. I love "skinny" bootcuts, b/c I think the slim leg does really make your legs look longer. That's what I like about my PAige Hidden Hill jeans.

Did you try the Kut from Kloth ones at all? You and I are built the same and I want some - I'm thinking ankle length, which would mean skinny or very straight - and I can't get there IRL. Wondered if the $100 extra made a difference in fit?

FYI for those still looking for white jeans: I saw J Brand white skinny flare jeans (flare, not bootcut) at TJ MAxx today for $70. They also had some Paige white jeans, a nice pair of Skinny, ankle length Michael Kors white jeans for $40.

I have a pair of Kut from the Kloth skinny cords. I do like them but they tend to sag a bit which bugs me. It is not as big of a deal with those pants though, as I usually had larger cardigans on that covered most of my mid section and it wasn't a huge issue. But I was concerned that the white pants might fit me the same way and I really wanted them to stay put.

J Brand and several other types of white pants are also on sale on Piperlime as well as Shopbop today too, FYI.

Yes, they are stiffer than some of the other ones I tried. But I feel like the looser stretchier ones show every single flaw in my legs in the white color! So I felt like the sturdier pair was actually a good thing in the white. For instance the J Brand skinnies felt like butta- so soft and stretchy. However, my legs looked like a mess in them, at least under those Nordstrom lights.
My AG black legging jeans are super stretchy though and I love them, but they hide so much more!
