How much would you pay for a used kid's bike?

DS1 needs a new bike. We want to get a better brand bike but prices were quite steep at the bike shop. So now we're considering getting a used one. Saw a couple of Trek 220 24 inch bikes on craiglist for around $125. They sell for $350 new. So is that a good price for a used bike assuming it's in good condition? I'm also going to call the bike shop tomorrow to see what used bikes they have.

Any advice on things to check out when looking for used bikes?

That sounds like a pretty good price to me assuming it is in good condition. We bought a 16" Specialized hot rock for $80. I would look to make sure the tires/tubes look good, there is no rust, and the frame is in good condition.

I've been scouring craigslist for used treks for a while now and $125.00 is pretty standard for the MT220. That's exactly what I paid, fwiw. If it's in good condition, I think that's a totally fair price.
