View Full Version : Need help finding wide shoes for Saturday!

So I had a pair of black shoes but when I took them out of my closet, I noticed they are looking worn. Here is the challenge. I have super wide feet and most BM stores don't carry my size (9WW or EE- thank you children!). I need to order from Zappos or Amazon to get them by Saturday.
I need them to be black and closed toe since I'm wearing black nylons.
Here is my dress if it helps:

I'm a size 18 with big ankles so prefer not to have straps that go around the ankle. Anyone up for the challenge? I poked around zappos but didn't see any cute options :( maybe you guys will find something I overlooked. TIA!

Just a question...are you 100% on the black nylons? If not, would you consider a peep toe style in black or in nude? Also, could you wear a W, in a brand that I think already runs wide? I have pretty wide feet, and can wear these W's really well, like sometimes they're almost too wide.

If you would consider open-toe:

If not:

Frankly, I'd rule out Nine West; even their wides run pretty narrow IMO.

Too bad it needs to be super-fast or I'd suggest DUO - they have some REALLY cute options right now (and it's free shipping, but it's from the UK, so it might get stuck in customs.)

*sigh*

Any way you can lose the hose?

These are really cute in EE:

I can't go without hose in this dress right now. My legs are ghastly white and I don't do tanning beds. Never tried spray tan but it's not really in the budget right now anyway.

No suggestion on the shoes, but I could not look and not comment. Cute dress! Darn it, now I want one, too. It should be very flattering.

I like these shoes the most. Very cute :). And with the platform should be fairly comfortable, too

Thanks, I liked it so much I bought 2 :love-retry: I have the black and the plum/purple color. The purple is one size smaller and I'm kinda in between the 2 sizes right now, but I'm going with black for Saturdays event and saving the purple for my cousins wedding in late summer. I was afraid the pleats would make me look pg, but they actually do a good job of hiding my big gut. Besides, the cleavage draws the eyes away from that particular problem area ;)

Pretty, i saw that dress on sale at sears for 6.99 BTW!
Glad you found some shoes you like. I'm a wide too, so I know how hard it is.

Eta, oh, wait, i misread. I have a good pair to recommend, but they're at DSW, and they take forever to ship. Let me look some more tonight.

Check your local sears. I just tried that exact dress on, on clearance for 6.99!

Fitzwells are a good brand for wides. I findnthe double wides to be plenty wide. Too bad you need them quickly, b/c 6pm.com has a lot in stock.

$6.99 really? And here I thought I got a good deal buying it with a coupon. I think I paid about $30 per dress! I'll take the link to the shoes anyway for future reference. Thanks!

Do you have an Avenue plus size clothing store near you? They have shoes in wide. I found a really cute pair of heels there a couple years ago. I wear size 10W, sometimes 10WW if I can find it.

BTW, I tried that dress on at Sears and almost bought it for $6.99! Totally cute but I don't have an occasion to wear it. I might go back and see if it's still there!

Well, if you love it so much, I think you got a good deal. This 6.99 price was EOS clearance, and limited sizes/colors. I wouldn't have risked not having my size/color for something that was perfect on me.

Pp's post reminded me that Lane Bryant also carries wide shoes. Very wide. I wear a wide and some are too wide for me. Reasonable prices too, esp. If you have a coupon. I bet you could find a good pair of black shoes there, unless they're onto sandals now.

I stopped by my Sears earlier today to return an item, and had to check women's clearance sections. Unfortunately, they did not have this dress on $6.99 rack or anything remotely decent/in my size.

$30 is a great price for this dress. $6.99 is hit or miss as my experience clearly shows.

Shoot. It totally is hit or miss. One of my Sears had a bunch of dresses, the other, nada.
