Older generation ipods but all of a sudden my computer isn't recognizing that they are plugged in when I plug them in. Anyone have any ideas on what I need to do to reset them? TIA

Basic question, are you sure it's not the port and or the cable? Can you plug in other things and recognize it? Can you try another cable?

We've had this issue recently, too! An old nano and a MacBook, wouldn't recognize it at all. No problems with the touch and iphone.

I just had that issue with my original ipad. I figured out my itunes software on the Macbook was not up to date. Once I updated it, I had no issues at all so check if you have updates that need to be done!

Have you tried rebooting your MacbookPro? I had a similar problem with my keyboard, and rebooting it fixed the issue.
Good luck!
