My child loves, loves, loves my laptop. He never gets to play with it, but it holds so much fascination for him.

is there a toy that is similar to a laptop?

He has played with the Fisher Price laptop (http://windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/%3Ca%20href=%22http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00428LJ06/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=fromonedesimo-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00428LJ06%22%3EFisher-Price%20Laugh%20&%20Learn%20Smart%20Screen%20Laptop%3C/a%3E%3Cimg%20src=%22http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=fromonedesimo-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B00428LJ06%22%20width=%221%22%20height=%221%22%2 0border=%220%22%20alt=%22%22%20style=%22border:non e%20%21important;%20margin:0px%20%21important;%22% 20/%3E), and while it's a great toy, it's really not like a laptop at all

Is there anything out there that's similar to a laptop?

TIA!

My daughter had a barbie one from Toys R Us. It had a mouse and came with some games on it.

DS had a Vtech orange laptop (http://www.amazon.com/Vtech-Preschool-Learning-Tote-Laptop/dp/B000E1PY6U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335118257&sr=8-1), but he *knew* it was not the same, though he does play with it. I used to also let him play with my old laptop, but not turned on. He still tried to grab mine, although he eventually understood it's off limits.

I got one for one of my kids, and it didn't help. The iPad did though.

There's the LeapTop, but it certainly doesn't look the same as a laptop.

my kids love the Leapfrog Leaptop. you can personalize it with songs, the kid's name, etc. my DS is obssessed with letters and animals and Mozart's "Alla Turca" so that's part of it. DD likes it too and they often are fighting over it.

we have the girlie Vtech one and neither kid liked it..it just has buttons that glow...its' mnore for young babies. DD really likes the leaptop bc the LCD screen has stuff on it, and has more interesting sounds. it also looks more like a laptop.

another option is the iPad with heavy duty protector (DS loves the Zoo train app)

Friends of mine got a piece of cardboard, folded it, put a mirror on the top half and drew a keyboard onto the lower half. The kids loved it way more than the vtech wannabe laptop. Try simple solutions first!
