the car seat article about keeping kids in seats longer on yahoo.com that is making it's rounds got me thinking about this, esp. since I have seen in some posts here that there are moms that are under 5' tall and could still potentially be riding in booster seats.

I am 5'6" and have been since I was 14 yrs. old. I was 4'11" when I was 12 yrs. old. I grew 6" in about 18 months.

when voting round up if you would like. I technically measure at 5'5.75" I always tell people I am 5'6" (esp. when weight is involved;))

I'm 5'8-5'9. I was at least over 5 feet by 5th grade and probably about full height by 7th.

I know a 4th-grader who is taller than her (male) teacher. I think she must be at least 5'7" or 5'8", maybe taller. Her family is Norwegian.

I am 5'4" tall. DH is 6'. DS and DD are both shorties so far.

I'm just about 5'8", especially if I stand up straight.

I'm over 6' in heels, though.

I'm 5'8" with rounding. I grew really slowly though. I hit my adult height at age 17.

5'10" Hated in junior high, but now I am happy being tall.
I feel ridiculously tall in heels sometimes. I still wear them though, even though I end up towering over DH when I do so (I am taller than he is to begin with). I've had women tell me that "it's not fair" for me to wear heels!

I am 5'7'' and have been since I was 12, in 6th grade. Great for basketball but I was twice as tall as most of the boys at my bat mitzvah. The photos are pretty funny, especially because I was wearing high platform heels!

I am 5'2" on a good day!

The nurse at my doctor's office told me to estimate high on my height. It helps when calculating my BMI. She told me a previous patient had joked with her that she was 5'12"!

:yeahthat:

DH and I are the exact same height, but in a weird way. He has a long torso and I have long legs. We met on a blind date and the first time he saw me I was at the top of a set of stairs and in platforms. I remember going out to buy flats for the second date. It doesn't bother him at all, but I feel like I tower over him in heels.

5'10" and grew an inch my freshman year at college

I have an aunt that grew 5 inches during her freshman year in college, she was 5'11" at her highest height. My mom gave me a few years to stop growing, but once I was 19 she told me I was going to start shrinking. I am the shortest person in my immediate family.

I'm 5'8", but I have a freakishly long torso. Sitting down, I'm taller than either DH (6'2"), my father (6'4") or my brother (6'5"). It also means I can never find shirts that fit me (most shirts end up stopping around my bellybutton), and I don't really show when pregnant until about 7 months.

I voted 5'2". I say I am 5'2 1/2". In reality I am probably 5'2 1/3"

In the shoes I am wearing today, i am 5'6".

I'm actually 5 feet, 2.5 inches, and have been for as long as I can remember (when I get a physical, this is always what they measure me as).
I wouldn't mind being another inch or two taller, but not enough to wear heels (too uncomfortable for me- I do some sort of platforms, if anything :)).

DH is right around 5'11" or 6', DD is super tall for a 3 yo, and DS is 50th percentile for height, but below the charts for length/ weight ratio for other 1 year olds. It'll be interesting to see how their heights compare when they stop growing!

I am 5'3 and people always think I am taller since I only wear heels. DH is 6'3 and DDs are taking after him 85% and 90% in height. I stopped growing when I was 11 or something. I don't even remember.

5'-6"

My mom was only 5'-4" and was the tallest female in her family until my generation. Both of my grandmothers were ~ 5' even.

I'm 6'. I didn't like it in high school and I constantly would get asked if I played basketball (which I didn't - I played softball). Or when I was working at a local ice cream shop people would always ask me if I was standing on something behind the counter. Nope. But now I don't mind at all... though I rarely wear heals.

I'm 5'3" when I wake up in the morning and 5' 2 3/4" when I go to bed at night. I've been this height since I was 12. I was always the tallest kid in school then I stopped growing and became one of the shortest.
