What are the major trends for this summer?

On a good day I don't know what is in fashion and this summer I will be in my nursing wardrobe (no dresses). But, if I manage to acquire a few things to update that look, what should they be?

I really shouldn't be answering this because I always look so terrible but I do watch Fashion Police ;) Two big trends this summer, one is bright colored jeans, 2 is color blocking (wearing several colors together).
