I used to watch it when i was a kid. I don't think I understood the plot but I was mesmerized by the spooky music and the costumes. I remember realy liking the boy David too and I remember the dream. Just wondering if anyone else remembers this show? I imagine it will become popular again with the new Johny Depp movie.

Are you talking about the original Dark Shadows (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059978/) or the 90's Dark Shadows (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099363/)?

I have seen a handful of the original series episodes and all of the remake. I can't remember much of either though.

Yes!!! My grandmother was obsessed with the original and I am so excited for the movie. I will probably sneak out to a matinee with baby as soon as I'm up and about

Yes, I remember my Mom watching it and me sneaking a peek...

I now watch it streaming on Netflix...

I was so excited abt the new movie with Johnny Dep until I read that its almost like a comedy...

I did also read that the original Barnabas Collins (Johnathan Frid) has a cameo in the movie but then was sad to read he died a few weeks ago.

Not sure why, but I used to watch the 90's version. My mom used to talk about the old version.

I saw the preview for the new movie and was quite surprised at the tone. It's definitely going for a comedic, making fun of itself tone. I was surprised because it's directed by Tim Burton, so I had imagined him going darker. After I thought more about it, it makes sense. With all the other vampire stuff/twilight stuff out there, a serious version would probably just get lost amongst everything else.

By the way if you listen to This American Life on NPR, they did a funny story about attending a Dark Shadows convention.

I remember the 90s one but never saw the cult classic original.

Here's a trailer for the Tim Burton version. It seems kind of like the Brady Bunch movie... making an overt comedy out of something that was only unintentionally funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpWvkFlyl4M

I remember the original being on but my parents wouldn't let me watch it. I think its was on the PBS station on Saturday nights. It was reruns of course, it was the late 70's about.
