It seems surreal. I am sorry to see him go even if it makes a win for the dems more likely in the general election.

It seems he ran a bad campaign but it still seems crazy.

While I understand the term limit/in too long perspective, I wonder if voters focusing on that are really aware of the impact of seniority in the Senate and what replacing a seasoned and well connected Senator with a new, green Senator means for a state.

It is a sad day for Indiana. I'm a heavily democratic-leaning independent voter and he was a politician I always considered a "real" Republican. Like Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. I gave his presidential campaign money. It saddens me that genuine public servants who work hard and have convictions are being run out of town. But then again, as citizens, we get what we deserve. Voter turnout was less than 20 percent.
