Help me find Bermuda shorts ...

I tried on a couple last weekend (shopping for mother's day).

The ones I tried were almost like skinny jeans on my thighs. Not flattering on me. I do carry some weight in my butt and thighs. I am looking for Bermuda length (I am 5'10") and not tight, more like straight.

I found a couple nice pairs (some plain, flat front and some more cargo-ish) at the Eddie Bauer outlet last year and the year before. It looks like they have some similar ones in the catalog this year. They were not very fitted in the hip and thigh area - I sometimes have that issue too.

And ebates is 13 percent today according to a post in the bargains lounge. . . . though that may be over as I haven't checked and I'm not sure if ebates is on east coast time.

I'm a pear shape and my favorites are the Kohls sonoma bermudas. They are inexpensive, and I have had them for a few years. I need to get new black and brown ones this year because they've faded a bit (I wore/washed them a LOT last summer!). They are 10" and not tight. I love the fit, they are comfy and work very well for me. Just got some new blue ones too. They have more colors in-store from what I see on the website.

Have you tried ATL Julia fit? They have longer shorts in that cut online...not sure about in store.

I'm your height and have had good luck with JCrew bermuda length shorts. I'm slightly pear shaped. There's usually a extra % sale happening so can easily score them for $20-25.

I bought a pair (in navy pincord) and really like them. FWIW, they fit bigger than most LE pants/shorts, so I ended up with the size below my usual LE/LEC size.

These are semi fitted but don't let that scare you...it's one step from relaxed in their fit chart.

I was reading a Real Simple magazine today and thought of this thread. They featured these shorts, and said they are "surprisingly flattering". I don't have these though, so I can't say if they are actually good or not.
