sad news. I didn't realize that she was fighting lung cancer for over a decade. She was a brave woman... transitioning from a single mom to a hollywood actress when she was in her 40s - what an inspiring person. RIP.

I only watched Desperate Housewives the fall I was pumping, so I didn't get your reference at first. But I loved her in The West Wing. RIP.

I never watched either DHW or WW but I loved her reoccuring role onn Scrubs...where she also died.

I was sad to hear this... I watched the show for so long she felt like my neighbor too. 72 is still too young. Hard to believe she was able to finish the series. Sounds like a great woman.

Oh wow, how sad! I didn't know she had cancer. I've watched DH from the very beginning.

She was a talented comic actress (which IMO is the hardest kind of actress to be). Peace to her.
