Sitting in the hospital following my surgery. I love how the BBB can keep my mind off my current situation.

Been there. How are you feeling? Hopefully it's not too painful. I got pretty lucky and didn't need pain meds after a couple of days. But still take it easy and rest.

Throat hurt a ton last night. Better today. Norco works well! Kind of tired, dizzy and nauseous. They ended up taking the whole thing out because there were two nodules on the other side as well as the big one.

Hope you feel better soon, and that you can do a lot of resting and relaxing over the next few days. You should post a movie or Netflix recommendation thread. :)

The sore throat shouldn't last too long. I had complications with vocal folds, so had to have very soft diet for a while - think lots of yoghurt and soups. By about day 3 or so, I was off the pain meds, but as DH was home I stayed in bed resting for the rest of the week. Don't rush it.

The incision area may look worse than it is. I had this surgical tape or something that went from one side of throat to other, looked like I had huge incision, but once that got taken off, it was quite small. It might be a bit irritated so v neck tops. Now 4 years later, you can barely see the scar.

Hardest part will be adjusting your thyroid meds, so bear with that while it gets fine tuned.
