This cartoon was in our morning paper, I love it. One of the public radio producers here called their show "the gateway drug to NPR" :rotflmao:

Wait...car talk is over?

Nooooooooooo!!! DH & I love that show! & I have so many memories of listening to it with my dad when I was growing up. I hate to think that DD won't grow up listening to them too!

I had the same reaction---and then found out that they apparently have eight years of recorded calls that NPR plans to continue airing as Car Talk for at least that long. :) Not quite the same, but I am still psyched that it can be part of my son's childhood experience too! (Though I do really wonder how they're going to order these so that in 2020 they're not still talking about people's 1984 beater cars... ;))

Weeeell, I remember some of their calls are about cars built in the 60s! Some people just hang on to their cars for a long time :) Personally I think they should collect more than 8 years worth. The show doesn't have to be one of the best to get me to listen!

CUTE!

For roadtrips, I sometimes get Car Talk 'audiobooks' (compilations of their shows) to listen to. Great company while driving.

Where do you find those?

Don't forget, they also have downloadable versions of many classic episodes on their website.

And by classic, I mean "old." :ROTFLMAO::D

My 1st cousin is a producer over there, at the show. When I was about 14, I correctly answered a trivia question on the show, and they sent me a copy of their book. They wrote in it:

Dear "knaidel": We hope you grow up to do better things than read this book. Warmly, Tom and Ray.
