Hoping the guys chime in :)

DH wants an in-ground system for Father's Day. I know exactly 0 about these systems. All I know is that he wants a good one since he is not exactly gentle or small. ;)

Can anyone point me to a good resource (so I can read up) or recommend a system they like?

Does he say why he doesn't want a portable one. We have one like this and it's not going anywhere. Inground, you'll have to cement it into place.

We bought it at a sport store and they delivered and set it up. Whatever one you get, inground or portable, pay them to install.

We have this one and are happy with it. We did not do a lot of research, but DH picked it out.

We would have done an inground one, but we are not sure this is our forever home. For bigger kids/hs age and beyond, the portable ones just don't work as well (well, according to dh). Per recs here, I recommend going to Dick's. We have this one from Dick's (dh is not handy, and we don't have family help nearby, so we used Dick's third party vendor to set up ours):

They won't let you buy the whole system over the phone. We have been really happy with it.

For the inground system, you are pretty much looking at $1000 for the system plus installation.

I know Gorilla is a good brand, as well as Lifetime. Amazon has a whole analysis of the different systems, but I can't find it out now. Call your local Dick's and see what they have.

DH is fine with ours, but there is no dunking going on.
