View Full Version : Did you go down a bra cup size, if you lost weight?

I am hoping/trying to lose ~10 pounds in the next year or so. I also would not mind going down a bra cup size, back to the cup size that I used to be at that weight pre- and post having DS. Wondering whether I have a good chance of success or not.

UPDATE:

So I've lost 12-13 pounds since I posted my question and a total of 22-25 pounds in the last 1.5 years, and am happy to report that although I still measure the same as in June, I can now wear most of my beautiful pre-pregnancy bras which have are a size bigger in the band but are 1-2 sizes smaller in the cup. Go figure, but I am not complaining :).

I did. After Gator was born I lost 29 lbs. I went from a 36DD to my pre-baby 34c. My body did the exact same thing after Cha Cha's birth. I lost exactly 29lbs and dropped down to a 34C cup from a 36DD.

I have yet to lose the weight I gained from my twin's pregnancy 4.5 years ago, but once things calm down around here (i.e. once the twins are in preschool in the fall), I plan to lose it again. I'm confident I"ll go back down to a C cup. I have another 25-30lbs to lose.

Yes! I wasn't big to start with, so now it's kind of sad. But...to answer your question, I think you have a very good chance of losing a cup size.

Yep. I went from an I to an E when I lost 50lbs.

No. I lost 25 lbs, and bra stayed the same, 32 DD.

I went from DDD to DD/D. Hoping to get to a D after these last 7lbs.

Thank you for sharing, ladies. Keep my fingers crossed that I drop a bra cup, if and when I lose 10 more lbs. I carry most of my extra weight in the lower body, and am already quite slim on top, save for the C/D boobs that I'd love to go back to B/C so that I did not have to worry about gaping with shirts and such. Things get really bad just before AF arrives, when I probably go up to a DD cup. Yet another reason to watch what I eat and work out.

I've recently lost 10 lbs. and I've gone from being a true DD to almost a D.

Yes, and I think it's pretty common. Just remember to get a properly fitting bra once you lose the weight.

Yes, that is the first place I start losing weight. Pre kids and in almost the best shape of my life I was a 34C, went up to a 34D while pregnant and BFing DD1, then after DD1 I went down to a 34B, then after the loss of baby 2 I was a 38B. I was a 38B/C while nursing and I am finally back down to a 36B (23 mos. post stopping breast feeding), which while still the same cup size is still a bit smaller than the 38B and bras are easier to find. 36B/34C is seriously the best bra size, next to pretty much every number of D size bras (which are always in abundance in my area stores).
