I've ordered a cake for DS & DD's Cowboys & Cowgirls-themed birthday party. The grocery store bakery didn't have a cowboy/cowgirl cake, but they have this which is pretty close, so I ordered it thinking I could buy my own cowboy and cowgirl figurines to put on top in place of the John Deer tractor: http://www.pastrywiz.com/cakes/cake382.htm
Problem is, I'm having trouble finding good cowboy/cowgirl toy figurines! The cake will be a 1/2-sheet (so pretty big), and I was envisioning Schleich-style figurines, but apparently they don't make any cowgirl figures, only cowboys. Since this cake is for both DS & DD, I'd hoped to have both genders represented but maybe I'm being silly about this. Also, I'm trying to avoid figurines with prominent weapons/guns. My kids are very young...I just want some simple cowboy/cowgirl-type figurines with maybe a few horses. Ideally, the kids can play with the figurines after the cake is gone. Anyone have any suggestions? I suppose I could just go with a male cowboy and stick some extra horses around...it's not like DD (turning 1) will know the difference. Thoughts?
