My Mom is coming to live with and quite elderly and week. She needs a wheelchair or walker and there are many times I will need to be out with her and my 10 month old. When I go out and am pushing the wheelchair I will have baby in ergo or Kelty backpack and those are both truly hands free carriers. When we get there I want a stroller to put baby in. I was thinking about getting a Mia moda ceilo or a quick smart stroller to loop on back of wheel chair so I have when I get there. My mom cannot handle her own wheelchair

The mia is a better stroller but 6 pounds heavier. The quick smart is small but rickety looking.

Am I missing something better? The Kelty stroller backpack gets bad reviews and I am small as well so it is too big.

I love a good challenge and will keep thinking about this. My first thought would be to use the 2 metal poles which are protruding out the back to keep the wheelchair from tipping backwards....perhaps using zip-ties attach a small platform to support a Zapp. Anchor the Zapp with a few bungee cords. The Zapp folds short and if you could find a European 3 wheel Zapp, the fold would be more compact. The BabyHome Emotion might also fit.

This may also work, hung from the handles.

I'm in a similar boat; my mom now lives with us and i have a 2 yo and 9 yo. I've had my moms aide with us though and of course it's another set of hands. However..she's leaving in a few weeks for good!

There's NO WAY i can take my mom and the 2yo out together except that my mom is walking a little more than previously....but it's a safety concern for her AND DS! The 9 yo can certainly push the 2 yo stroller. Of course there's DH to help too.

You'll have your hands full but if can wear your baby you'll be in better shape! Good luck!

Sorry, I am a bit confused by your post.
When is it that you want to use a stroller as opposed to a carrier?
You are asking what stroller would work best to hang on the wheelchair, right?

The quinny zapp is supposed to have a pretty tiny fold too isn't it. I think they have a travel bag too if that makes it easier to hang on the wheelchair.

As far as carriers go the keltys are nice but I find ergo type carriers to be more comfortable. You should start practicing getting your toddler on your back in front of a large mirror.

After a google search I found this random device. I have no idea if it works well or not and its a bit pricey to gamble on but thought it was worth sharing.

I have the ergo and kelty pack already. I will wear her when I have to push wheelchair (she is almost 11 months and just hit 16 pounds so she is very light so I can handle it physically). I want a very small stroller that I can loop over wheelchair as I can see I will be going to lots of hospital/dr appts. I can't decide between the mia and quicksmart, they are both cheap enough on ebay. The zapp looks a bit cumbersome to me.

What about just getting a Volo and hanging it on the back of the wheelchair with stroller hooks? Someone on here hung a Volo on the side of her BJCE so it seems like it would work with a wheelchair too.

There is also the mutsy spider. It looks pretty small. I found the buggy pod. It is so wide it would hard to push.

Or similarly, how about a g-luxe/lite with the shoulder carry strap?

Or if you have any friends/family in Europe, the Quinny yezz Or maxi cosi noa would be perfect!

I am leaning now between musty spider and the cielo. Which one would you pick?

I would expect the mutsy to be of higher quality so I would probably pick that one if they are similarly priced.

I haven't watched them but baby gizmo actually has video reviews of both strollers. They are both from '08 though so if either has major changes that won't be included, obviously.

:yeahthat: Although I personally would still try to hang an umbrella like the Volo or G-lite on the handles instead.

I went ahead and ordered a Mia from eBay. It was the cheapest and looked the most comfortable. The quick smart looked to picky and uncomfortable while the spider had a lot of reviews calling it uncomfortable. The Mia she can sit in as we are at Dr appts and I think I can attach a tray to the front arms. Nothing is a great solution actually but hopefully this is the best.

How are you liking the Mia?
