Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any toy suggestions for a 3 month old? Our daughter has a flat head on one side and we are trying to find some things that really get her attention to work on her neck muscles. Any suggestions are appreciated!

At that age the only things that got any use from DS was his playmat:
http://www.amazon.com/Tiny-Love-Deluxe-Lights-Activity/dp/B000067K0L/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339777719&sr=8-1&keywords=gymini+play+mat

His bouncer, we have the FP Rainforest Bouncer

And some toys with crinkly parts and different textures, such as: http://www.amazon.com/Lamaze-Play-Freddie-Firefly-Along/dp/B000I2Q0F4/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1339777815&sr=1-1&keywords=lamaze+toys

They really start interacting more with other toys at a later age, IME.

BTW, babywearing in the tummy to tummy position counts as tummy time and helps strengthen their necks.

I would head to BRU or somewhere that has a lot of baby toys (the small colorful stuffed kind that can be played alone or hung from carseat/stroller/playmat etc.) and find a few that your DC seems to show interest in. Both my kids had different favorites to stare at a various times! Then I would hold or hang/prop those in various locations to work on some of the positions and exercises the PT gave us for his head/neck. I don't really have specific recommendations for those toys, as I think different babies tend to gravitate towards different ones, depending on colors, textures, etc.

We used the our playmat/gym a lot at that age too as PP mentioned (we had a Tiny Love one that both DC really liked). I would do tummy time on it since it was colorful and I would also put DS on his back and position the toys so they hung from the side I wanted him to look towards (to stretch his neck and spend time with his head off the flat spot).

Another thing we did was to do tummy time with his chest on a boppy pillow with a wedge baby toy mirror in front of him to look at. He tolerated tummy time for longer stretches with the mirror. We had a Lamaze mirror that was handed down to us - I don't know if they make that one anymore but I'm sure there is something similar.

HTH!

DD LOVED Jacques the Peacock at that age. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2574127&prodFindSrc=search

So many good suggestions already. I'd agree with PP about taking kiddo somewhere that sells baby toys and let her pick out her own. We did that with our daughter about that age and it was really obvious what she was interested in. :) Good luck.

Thanks everyone- question about baby wearing. We have a boba wrap that I use but even in that, she will turn her head to the side. Do you know if this is still an issue or is it not as bad since laying on me is not as bad as a hard surface?
TIA

Not sure about laying on you vs. hard surface, but I used to reposition my son's head in my beco so he was more in the position he needed to be to stretch his neck (the opposite direction of his preference). He would sometimes move it back, but I was able to at least get some time with his headed turned the other way and he tolerated pretty well in the carrier - I think bc he was on me and there was always a lot to look at.

How about a floor mirror like this?

And the baby mats with toys hanging over.

Oh and bells. Anything with bells!
