When I was 4, I had a set of Wonder Woman UndeRoos.

They were a camisole with the red-and-gold crest/breastplate and blue, star-spangled underpants.

It was the greatest set of underwear I have ever owned.

I wore it every day (my mother had to wash it nightly)

I would really like to get one for my daughter.

But, sadly, DC Comics/Warner Bros. apparently doesn't license Wonder Woman (or any of its other super-heroine properties) for little girls' underpants anymore.

This makes me very angry.

I've got friends who know people who know people on Twitter, so I tweeted (and asked my friends to re-tweet) that I want to buy super-heroine underpants for my daughter.

*sigh* I don't want to live in a world where the only super-hero things out there are a boys' club.

Wonder Woman, though she got her start as kind of an S&M icon (really; I am not making this up), still kicks some serious a$$.

She's been rebooted to be even stronger.

Why is she only appropriate for ogling and not emulation? (OK, I admit, the costume is little more than a merrywidow, but, seriously, mad props to anybody who can fight intergalactic baddies and vengeful Greek gods in something that tight & short and not have a wardrobe malfunction.!)

Oh no! I was just thinking a couple of days ago that I wanted to look around and see if they still made WW underoos. I *loved* mine as a kid. I'd wear them when watching the Lynda Carter show with a rope and tin foil wrapped around my wrists (for the deflector bracelets, of course). So sad!

Underoos were the best! I wish they still made them.

I loved mine too! We have pictures of me at age 4, dressed in the underwear set and outside, pretending to be Wonder Woman! Sorry you can't find a set for your DD :(

I wore my Wonder Woman underoos with a flesh colored leotard underneath and my easter cape as my Halloween costume one year. I have the photos to prove it. I loved those things. DD was Wonder Woman for Halloween last year, but her costume was a bit more conventional than mine had been. :rotflmao:

While I, too, realized you can't buy the underwear anymore, DD has a Wonder Woman tee shirt from Old Navy that I love. They usually have some cute ones, though for me, it depends what they say on them whether I'll buy them or not.

Total bummer, but my guess is WW isn't licensed because she hasn't been in any recent movies. Frankly, there haven't been any strong heroines in the recent DC movies lately, that I can think of. You might have luck with some of the female characters from the Marvel properties. Maybe Black Widow, Storm (x-men), Rogue, Jean Grey, The Invisible Woman (fantastic 4)....

I could be wrong...but I think I'd start there.

Wow....I sound pretty geeky don't I?!

OMG, you too?

I would wear either the UndeRoos or my Wonder Woman bathing suit and my red rain boots, with a jump rope coiled at my side.

I wanted to BE Lynda Carter when I grew up. Well, either her or Erin Grey, who I met at a SciFi convention about 10 years ago. There's no non-creepy way to tell someone who you admired so much as a little kid that you wanted to BE them when you grew up, is there?

BTW, have you seen the Lynda Carter & Shaq video from the NBA Finals?

Here's the thing, though, Wonder Woman is part of the DC "big 3" in their current universe rewrite, so she *should* be licensed elsewhere.

I'm not typically a Marvel-verse person, but I agree that the ladies of X-Men are quite bad-a$$ too ... but, sadly, no superheroine underpants for little girls.

It's Hello Kitty, Disney Princesses and Tinkerbell, which are all fine and good, but ... they just aren't in Wonder Woman's league.

As the loud and proud owner of the boxed set of Wonder Woman DVDs I too want some underoos. For my girls....ahem...

My girls LOVE Wonder Woman!

AMEN! It is official you are officially my New Jersey twin. We like all of the same geek stuff!:):bighand:

I loved my Wonder Woman Underroos as well. Do you know anyone at Think Geek, who might be able to get this off the ground? (although I might not really like the $15-$20 price tag they'd associate with a cami and panty set vs. $5-$8 for a 3 or 4 pack).

I remember when I first bought panties for DD1 (this was almost 3/1/2 yrs. ago) I too looked for Wonder Woman. I even think around the time my sister was PTing in 1990 (or maybe when she was a baby) I remember there being She-Ra, and Rainbow Brite (although I know she was never really a super hero, but it was cool girl power and at least she had her own cartoon!) panties. I love the innoncence of Hello Kitty, but honestly there is really no connection for me with her other than she is cute. I don't think I have ever seen a HK cartoon, and come on Wonder Woman had her own live action show.

Honey, if I ever find myself in SoCal, I am totally looking you up.

I'm sure our girls would have a blast together.

I know a guy who's fairly well-connected in the Twitterverse as far as both celebrities and maker-fair types, plus my DH has a bunch of good connections, so that's why I turned to Twitter. In the hopes that one of my more connected friends with a public-facing account might get my plea/whine to the right ears.

I've seen them in Juniors' sizes, but that's just not enough for me. I want them in toddler/preschooler sizes.

Wonder Woman. Batgirl. Supergirl. Is it too much to ask?

My brother Gerald LOVED She-Ra. In many ways, she was epically cooler than He-Man and sort of a precursor to Xena: Warrior Princess. I'd bet anything that Sam Raimi had She-Ra and Wonder Woman in his head when he was directing Lucy Lawless in Xena!

Count me in with the Wonder Woman underoo wearing crowd! My next door neighbor had the Supergirl ones and I wanted them in the worst way!!! The tank top just didn't compare the the bra top ;)

We used to run around outside in our underoos :) Never thought to make foil wrist shields though - very clever!

...

I have those undergarments.

For myself. (Well, actually, the underpants don't fit. Sadly, my @ss is a bit too wide-load to fit into Juniors' anymore ... see my comments in the underwear thread in Mom Wear for the description of the demise of my star-spangled underpants. *sigh*)

DD wanted to wear the cami, so I tied the shoulder straps to make it look like a sundress. She looked so stinkin' cute, but, alas, it was not the effect I was going for.

I still think it's about time for DC to step it up with the licensing for little girls.
