Ever since Greenbean started Listening Therapy last week he has been more and more interested in watching the iPod and ipad around our house. They alwYs seemed to help calm him but the OT and I think he is relying on them too much lately. I need to get him back down to only 2hours per day of screen time. He is very independent and tries hard to follow the rules. I think if he had a timer that he could read himslef to show him when 2 hours were up, that that would work really well for him. It's best if the timer is silent becuase he is very sensitive to noises. I thought of an hourglass but where the heck could I get one? He can't read numbers yet so a regulat clock wouldn't work. The other problem is that I'm vey busy and lose track of the day so thinking I could indicate on a white board or by keeping tack for him would be setting us both up for failure. I thought about an egg timer but it would only work if it didn't make much noise AND we could stop and restart it.

Suggestions?

How about something like this?

The one PP suggested is good. There is also a "mini" version:

I haven't seen this in person, but it looks cool:

We use these, but they have a max time of 1 hour, so you would have to reset it:

We have the Time Timer too and love it. I feel like a salesperson for them b/c I'm always recommending it to someone. It has a little beep that you can turn off, but it's very very quiet.

We just got the Time Timer and love it! It's just so simple and easy to use! I ended up buying another one for DS's preschool teacher to use at summer school.
