We have an old booster seat that just takes up space. Can I list it for free on craigslist or free cycle? Is there any liability in doing so? The carseat is about 10 years old.

Thanks, Jenn

Has it expired? I'd check the date of manufacture and how many years it is good for. If it has expired I would trash it in a way that makes it impossible to reuse (take off cover or something). If it is still good, I personally wouldn't hesitate to give it away on CL. I sold our infant car seat on CL (we only used it for one baby so it had years left on it.)

If it's 10 years old, put in in a trash bag or take an ax to it, it's expired. If you leave it as is on the curb someone will pick it up and use it.

Our preschool collected car seats for a non-profit that donated them to children of migrant farm workers. If yours in not expired, I'm sure many charities would be happy to take it off your hands! Of course, if it's expired, distroy and discard!
