The recent thread about neutrals and chat with my best GF have inspired me to look for a pair of perfect nude pumps since, apparently, you can wear them with everything almost year round here in California.

So on a recent trip to the mall, I tried on a few pairs at NM, just for fun and to know my sizing in brands that I don't normally wear for when I see a good sale. Turns our that not all nude pumps are created equal, and price has very little to do with fit, no surprise there. Plus, there are not that many options in stock. The only pumps that I liked were these Prada ones, (http://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/Prada-Round-Toe-Platform-Patent-Pump-Pumps/prod144410150_cat39980735_cat13030734_/?isEditorial=false&index=26&cmCat=cat000000cat000141cat13030734cat39980735) that are supposedly not going on sale anytime soon, as they just got them in stock. Thank you, but no thank you.

I figured there must be much better deals out there, and I just need to cast my search much wider. So what are your favorites? I typically wear 3-3.5' heels and don't like large platforms. Also, I keep wondering whether nude pumps are trendy or here to stay for a while, answer to this question would influence my budget quite a bit.

I don't have any -- nor have I shopped for them -- but those Pradas are fabulous. I think I am in love with the peep-toe version.

I LOVE nude pumps - I got some from Cole Haan 4 years ago and I wear them all the time. In fact, I've nearly worn them into the ground.

Why I love nude pumps:

1) A good nude elongates your leg

2) a more unexpected neutral than black or brown

3) fun to pair with brightly colored skirts/dresses/pants that can be hard to match otherwise

4) Can be a non-neutral when worn with an LBD, etc.

Would LK Bennett be in your price range? They have stores in Atlanta, Houston, Chicago and... I can't remember off the top of my head. They run pretty TTS.

TxCat, I tried your dream pair during my recent trip to NM, I thought they were my dream pair, too, but turns out that these shoes don't fit me well. I am sort of in between sizes. I've tried CLs before and did not like them either, except for Very Prive (http://www.barneys.com/Christian-Louboutin-Very-Prive/501753818,default,pd.html?cgid=womens-shoes&index=37)peep-toe pums that a friend of mine has. Those are stunning but a bit too low cut on the side for me. Frankly speaking, I am relieved CL don't fit me, even though they do go on sale sometime.

Will check out Cole Haan pumps that you and other pp have recommended. I don't mind spending $300-$350 on the shoes that look good and are comfortable, as long as I expect them to last/be in style, so will check out LK Bennett, too.

I bought a pair of Banana Republic nude heels about 5 years ago, and have worn them constantly. These are the almost the exact same shoe:

I think nude heels are a classic.

I love these (have in a couple colors, including nougat):

I could go running in them. I don't always find CH Air heels comfy either.

Love the BR ones!

Wow, those are nice. I like lower heels and the darker nude would be better for me. I'm looking for nude pumps too, but have different requirements. I should start a different post.

Did you see this? Don't know if the platform is too high. DSW has different in store and online stock, but it's free ship over $35 and free store returns.

Sally, thank you for your suggestions. The first pair is almost what I am looking for, save for the metallic heel and height. I really like the second pair, but would prefer a lighter color, more nude than light brown. I do like the shape of these a lot. H-m-m-m... Maybe I order them and see how they fit/look in person.

What about these from Ivanka Trump? (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ivanka-trump-indico-pump/3345126?origin=category&fashionColor=&resultback=414) I have a pair of them in black kid (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ivanka-trump-indico-pump/3345126?origin=category&fashionColor=&resultback=414) and love them.

Prior to buying these pumps I had only bought one other pair of pumps in maybe 10 yrs., and while they are comfortable (Vince Camuto), these are even more comfortable.

Read that these are Princess Kate's favorites.

I've had the black ones of these Vince Camuto peep toes for a couple years and wear them all the time. I finally got the nude ones recently:
http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/product.do?searchCID=4016&cid=4016&vid=1&pid=825697&scid=825697052

They are actually comfortable if you can believe it!

Read that these are Princess Kate's favorites.

They certainly are Kate's favorite, but according to my British girlfriend with expensive shoe habit it does not mean that they are good. She strongly recommended I do not get them, and compared them to VS and Top Shop but at higher price point. And said they were "leg-breaking". I don't have a store nearby (as far as I can tell) so after these comments, am afraid to buy these shoes, although I do like the look. I'd rather try Cole Haan next time I am at Nordstrom, can't beat their return policy and proximity. Just wanted to share in case you are on the fence as to what to get.

ETA: Apparently Nordstrom carries L.K. Bennett shoes (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/l-k-bennett-shilo-pump/3313380?origin=category&fashionColor=TAUPE&resultback=456), at least on their website, so I might be able to form my own opinion with easy returns, if I want to.

Via Spigas are my personal favorite. They always seem to stay in style for more than one season and almost always feel good on my feet.

What about the Angies? http://www.viaspiga.com/en-US/Content/women.aspx#/women/all I have the Janice pumps and love them. The peeptoes are cute too (Ryans) and they are on sale!

I must have very picky feet, but in the past I had to return shoes by Vince Camuto and Via Spiga boot as they were uncomfortable. I also walked quite a distance barefoot (on at least 2 occasions) because of Nine West pumps, so promised myself to never ever buy this brand. And I have an adorable pair of Delman shoes that start hurting my feet almost as soon as I start walking in them.

Of the less expensive brands, I've had good luck with Cole Haan (flat so far, and have to size up), French Sole, Ecco and Enzo Angiolini. I will try to bribe DS with iPhone play time and check out a few of these in store.

I just ordered these (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/vince-camuto-vickiy-pump/3145767?origin=keywordsearch&fashionColor=Blush+Patent&resultback=200). I hope I like them. I've wanted some nude patent pumps for a long time.

I just got these Fluevogs in tan, and they are the *Perfect* match to my fall shade of nude! Now with a 3inch heel they are not everyday walk all day shoes!
http://www.fluevog.com/code/?w=family%3AMiracles&p=1&pp=1&view=detail&colourID=3243

I also found that my Sofft Corines are a decent "nude" match and have a more comfy heel height, conducive to more walking but not comfy as much as I would walk on a typical work day, but okay for a slow work day!

Thank you for all your suggestions, ladies. I ended up ordering these (http://www.myhabit.com/#page=d&sale=A3M5YEZJPJUI6V&asin=B004W8A6PA&cAsin=B00571E08A&fc=1) Alejandro Ingelmo Grace Classic Pumps from MyHabit.com. At $95 they were heavily discounted from MSRP of $525, and are a very nice match color-wise for me.

Now I just need to decide whether they are comfortable enough. I'd be only wearing them to the office and when going out, and have recently acquired two other pairs of platform pumps with the same heel height that I wear with no issues, like these (http://www.myhabit.com/#page=d&sale=AZOADMG1QRSWE&asin=B006RILTAY&cAsin=B006RIM5PW&fc=1) Calvin Klein Collection pumps (for only $71!) after a code) but these look like they need a bit more breaking in. So jury is still out on the perfect nude pump that does not break a bank but looks like a million bucks.
