Hi, we are going on a trip, and my almost 4 yo needs a Baby Jogger City Mini 2012 stroller. I know there are 2011 strollers at AlbeeBaby.com from $150-$190, but I am not liking the fuchsia for $150. So, I thought I'd fish around to see if there are any deals for the 2012 since if I spend $190 for 2011 I could maybe spend a tad more for a 2012. I know a bit flawed logic, but I figure maybe someone would maybe have a coupon or advice. Or, any luck on getting a deal on eBay?

Thanks so much! I have been spending way too much time researching prices when I should be sleeping or researching what to do on our trip!

What about buying one at Buy Buy Baby with the 20% off coupon? All too often they look past the fact that BJ is an excluded brand. Worth a try. Of course I am not an expert in BJ pricing, so I am sure others will have better suggestions for you!

It looks like you can save 5% off at letsgostrolling.com if you sign up for their newsletters. Not sure if that coupon has brand exclusions though.

I was thinking of getting it from BedBathandBeyond.com or BuyBuyBaby.com, but I didn't want to bother. I went to the Buy Buy Baby store, and I asked about the coupon and was told it wouldn't work. Thanks for the suggestions though!

I would love to beat the $205 price point since if I get a 2011 (not fuchsia) at AlbeeBaby.com it would come out to that with tax.

I am still oscillating between the 2011 and 2012. Will the locking mechanism and basket really bother me? I am thinking the locking mechanism to fold will since I will be going on and off of the subway with it. Any opinions? TIA.

I don't know if it will annoy you, but I'm pretty sure I read the lock is removable. No personal experience though!

I read that the lock is hard to lock and hard to unlock whereas the 2012 has an auto lock for folding. I would think that I would not want to go down escalators with the handle that collapses the stroller but hold it at the side where the lock is. Therefore if it isn't locked it may be hard to carry it or unfold on me while carrying it. Any other thoughts or experiences on this?

I have the city mini and have found that is stays closed pretty well even without locking it. It is the 2011 fuschia one. :) My 2 year old loves the pink. But it is vibrant.

A bungee cord holds the stroller closed quite nicely and is much cheaper than the price difference between the 2011 and the 2012! :)

Thank you for the idea about the bungee cord. I ended up buying 2012 Purple BJCM though.
