How can I store/travel with my jewelry so it doesn't become a tangled mess?
My current jewelry box doesn't allow for me to hang my necklaces up and even when I lay them flat they still somehow seem to get totally tangled.
Is there some secret to storing them?

And then I actually most of the time I even get a chance to wear most of my long necklaces is when I travel, and I have to pack them in a small travel jewelry pouch.
I swear it took me 15 minutes this morning to untangle my necklace.

How can I keep them untangled? Maybe pack them in cling wrap (to then only get retangled on the trip home?

I knew there had to be some DIY solutions!
The necklaces I have wouldn't work with the straw though. The ones that give me the most trouble have several charms that are like magnets for tangles and they wouldn't work with the straw.

i have some of mine in the original plastic bag they came in. It's those really small zip lock bags. The pendant part goes in the bag..zip it up a bit and the chain part hangs outside. I don't have many necklaces but this works for me.

Another DIY option: use a Ziploc bag to keep them separate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVa5qiBaGLU

Or maybe something like this could help: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/closet/jewelryStorage/hanging?productId=10025750&N=80360

I use a thin hand towel when traveling. Lay each necklace and bracelet flat on the towel, spaced a couple of inches apart. Roll the towel up (jelly roll style – each necklace kind of getting its own compartment so it doesn’t tangle with the others) and then wrap a rubberband around each end to secure.

For the house, I made my own necklace holder (and a belt holder) for $5 and moved the necklaces out of my jewelry box and into my closet. So much happier not dealing with tangles and being able to see everything.

I have a hanging jewelry box with lots of necklace hooks. It has a collage picture frame on the front, similar to this:
