I loved my Skip Hop Studio diaper bag but as DD is in a stroller less often, I find I want to switch to a backpack style bag. I'm looking for a medium size backpack to hold snacks, pull ups and underwear, 2 changes of clothes, purell, foogoo cup, wipes case, and a few small table toys for restaurants. I really, really want something lightweight- almost everything I'm finding in stores has major padding to protect a laptop. I like lots of pockets and ways to organize but I would give that up to find the right size and weight. Bonus would be cup/water bottle holders on the outside.
Unisex would be preferred so DH can carry, too.
This bag would go to theme parks, the mall, museums, road and plane trips, etc.
Any recommendations?

If you don't mind lack of pockets for a super light weight backpack, check otu the LL Bean Stowaway Backpack (http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/69232?feat=backpack-SR0). It has no structure though, so it tends to be floppy.

While looking for the link above, I saw the LL Bean Explorer Backpack (http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/75461?feat=backpack-SR0), which also looks rather light weight (5 oz more than the Stowaway)

Also take a look at some of EMS's smaller backpacks, like this one:

or this one, which weighs about the same as the LLB Stowaway.

I'd look at a baggilini bag. There are many designs, crazy number of pockets and very light weight. I have seen them IRL in travel/suitcase stores and Clark's shoe stores carry a selection. I have a shoulder bag I use for travel since 2006 and it looks new.

I am getting the new Ju-Ju-Be backpack they just released. Love the organization!
