Anyone know of any deals? We need to get some for DS's room, and maybe ours as well, if the price is right.

I just went to Joann fabric and bought blackout fabric. I made curtains with it as the backer for DS's room. When DD was born I didn't have the time so I just lined her windows with it and hung curtains in front. We have since pinned it to the back of our curtains in our bedroom. See how much lazier we are getting as time goes on? Just an idea if you want a quick solution while waiting for a deal or just don't want to break the bank on these.

Target has black out curtains for about 12.99 a panel if I remember correctly.

We bought a cordless cellular shade from Lowes for the nursery that was custom cut to the window's exact width. We've liked it these past few years, and it wasn't too expensive considering Levolor or Bali ones run $200-300/ea and this one was ~$50 IIRC. Sometimes they run sales on all in-stock made-to-measure blinds.

I shopped around, and on the advise of a designer friend of mine, ordered from BlindsSelect.com. Hubby works nights, so room darkening shades are a must. We've been happy with them.

You can get paper blackout blinds at Walmart for $8 or so. We already had blinds in DS's window, but these fit under the blind and work wonders. They just stick to the top of the window. We've had them in a year now. My sister's husband took some of ours and uses them too because he works nights.

We got ours for a steal at Pottery Barn outlet. Great quality, very cute, larger than target, etc. worth a look if there's one in your area.

I found great blackout curtains at Tuesday Morning, but obviously that's hit or miss.
