UPDATE in OP:Seen any great deals on quality BTS shoes?

UPDATE: Thanks for all the ideas! I started out last night with just the kid who needed shoes most. (What total fun it is to take ONE DC out shoe shopping!!!) and stopped in Nordstrom Rack before checking out REI, the anniversary sale, and SR. There was a pair of $20 Geox and several pairst of $30 SRs, but DS1 ended up with a pair of $25 Geox that seemed to work well for us. DH is typically really picky about wording/logos on clothing/shoes, but when DS1 presented them and beamed with joy, he bypassed his "but there's writing all over the front" comment. We did go into Nordy and try some on, but we stuck with our Rack shoes that look sort of like this (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/geox-tornado-10-sneaker-toddler-little-kid-big-kid/3172455?origin=keywordsearch&fashionColor=&resultback=2319), with more navy. We also found the same Keens he got last year at REI, but they were $50, and were only going down to $40 on Labor Day weekend. We wanted to go ahead with the $25 shoes instead to try out this brand. I know SR has BOGO 50% off, but I'm considering getting DS1 a pair of Keens again. Last time we got them from REI wit 20% off, but I never know when their sales will be. Also, we're traveling the next few weeks, moving, and we can't access our "spare" shoes b/c they are in storage. I know Target has BOGO this week, but I just can't do it b/c I have a thing about cheap shoes from growing up wearing uncomfortable ones.

eta: Would love some more Tsukihoshi for DD per the my habit sale last year, but she wants a lace up. Both DSs need something that runs narrow.

How do they run narrow or wide? The store is a decent distance away from me (better part of an hour), so we've not tried any on in 3-4 years. Can you see the styles online anywhere? Their site doesn't seem to show them all.

Check out nordstrom's anniversary sale. I bought keens for my son for BTS, free shipping and returns. I think the shoes were $36.90.

Check REI...they have some on clearance right now as low as $24.83 depending on color in the kids 8-13 size and big kids 1-6 size. Looks like for boys it is the Camo color which is green. We have had that color and I like it, especially for that price.

Got some great deals on here guys. I also found some great deals on for kids shoes at Macy's (http://www.macys.com/cms/slp/2/Kids-Shoes). After a little search there are a select few shoes up to 50% off. Need to dig deep though.

I got ds two pairs of the seriously adorable Keen Amblers yesterday at the REI sale, in the grey color--$26.xx each!
This is the dark blue (sadly, not on sale):

The grey/olive was on sale, and it's *so cute* in person. They're much lighter and more flexible than most Keen sneakers, FYI. Ds has wide feet, and he says they fit perfectly. He takes the same size as his Keens Newport H2 sandals.

On the Clarks: sadly I have no idea as to how they run. Lula was being pi$$y on that shoe shopping day and refused to try anything on. :irked: It is weird how they are not online. The kid's shoes are so cute IRL.

That's funny. Ours did not have the Ambler in stock at all. I asked and looked 2x.
