Is this a full size backpack? Seems like it might be since its the only size offered. I'm thinking about my 4 YO going to PreK. too big?

I love the red star one. Thanks, OP! Bought it for DS (to grow into,as he's still a baby), and bought a few t-shirts on clearance for DDs while I was at it. Total came to $40, shipped.

They are 14 x 11 X 4 according someone frm GF. Definitely big enough for Kindergarten.

Thank you!!! I just talked to an agent who said this size is best for 2nd/3rd/4th grade, so perfect for my 2 little DDs. Only the blue and white polka dot style is left for girls, but it's super cute!

Thanks! I bought the red star one for DS2 to bring to preschool. He needs to bring a lunch and snowpants, so this is perfect!

If the dimensions are really 14 x 11 x 4 then it would be about the same size as the LL Bean Jr. backpack which DS2 used for preschool and will be using for K. I think it would be too small for 2nd/3rd/4th grade.

I wonder how they compare against the garnet hill back pack which has free lunch pack offer now. If there is a diference in quality. If they hold up pretty much the same then mini boden is cheaper even if we have to buy a separate lunch pack - any suggestions?

I didn't get the dimensions from her, so I don't know. I just asked if it would work for my 1st grader and was considering one for my preschooler, too.

I've never owned the MB one, but Boden's quality is guaranteed - they will replace or refund it if it turns out to be defective in a few months.

We do have the GH backpack and lunchbox which DD used last year in K, and we were very happy. Funnily enough, it's the lunch box that I really loved - really well made and practical.

If you search on these boards, you can probably find a comparison review somewhere.

It looks like you have to use the code PACK to get it down to $15.

Eta: I just tried it. Yup, you have to use the code and it will be $15.

Oh bother. Of course DS likes the skulls better than stars. He's going to a church preschool though. Anyone else think that some ppl would find the skulls inappropriate for little kids?

I like the skulls better too! :)

I would order him the skulls. Both my kids went to a church
preschool and I would have totally ordered my son the skulls backpack.
I see nothing wrong with it. It's totally cute!

Thanks! It'll show up just in time for a BFF's son's BD party. I'm going to try to find a dinosaur keychain to go on it since the stars were kinda plain and my friend is remisc to do skulls.

I liked the skulls better myself, but DS liked the stars. So, stars it was/is.

Ours came too, and DS really likes it. I'm worried that having the zippers covered might be an issue though. Admittedly, he isn't great with zippers anyway, but those things do make it more difficult.

The PACK code seems to be working again. I have the girls blue polka dot pack in my cart, and it is showing up as $15 and free shipping. Now I have to decide if DD really needs it or not. MIL bought her a small Disney princess backpack for her preschool, but it's too small to hold a folder/ sheet of paper.

Thanks! I've never ordered from Boden before, but the polka dot one is so cute and I needed a gift for my goddaughter so this will be perfect! Got a second one for the gift closet, too.

We have this one and the Garnet Hill Jr. backpack - I just compared them and the Boden is maybe an inch taller and maye 2 inches wider across the back?

The Boden is about the same size as our Disney Cars one with a lunchbox attached to the front (the Cars one was a gift, not sure if it's from the Disney Store or what).

My DS is not school age yet but it seems like the Boden will work for K through early elementary age unless the kid has a huge amount of stuff.

I think they say to contact them if it takes longer than 15 business days. I emailed them at 16 business days, and they offered to refund or replace. It arrived the day after I had emailed so I said nevermind. :-)

I don't have a tape measure handy, but I'd say it's an average backpack size. In fact, it's larger than the backpack that I bought for my kindergartener. We fit a lunchbox, a large-ish teddy bear, two water bottles, a fall jacket and spare clothes in it.

Mine have not arrived. They offered to replace but only the skull one was in stock. Hopefully I'll get my original shipment b/c that one included the polka dot.

Thank you! I hope ours does arrive soon! My DD keeps saying "My 'potty backpack coming up t(s)oon!". She was pretty devastated with DS's PBK robot backpack arrived first.

Mine took 3 weeks (boys skulls) and just arrived yesterday, if that takes away anyone's worries! I had it sent to my us shipping service (I'm in Canada) and I was so worried! Glad to be able to get a quality backpack for Walmart pricing! :jammin: I can't wait to actually get it here! The best part is that it'll be different from all the other kids! We are in a tiny town and EVERYONE has the same things. Drives me batty!

Customer service seems pretty good, albeit a bit slow to respond via email.
