I ended up finding the dress I wanted for DDs baptism from another site. :bighand:

Now I need help with shoes!
Here's the dress. It's ivory colored.

3 1/2 year old DD will be baptized at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct. Weather could run the gamut from hot & sun to cold & rainy. But usually is still pretty warm around that time.

She currently has black patent leather shoes or these white Pediped sandals

I'm not sure if either of them will work. Thoughts?

That is a beautiful dress!

I think the white Pediped sandals are not dressy enough. While black patent leather would be fine, I'd probably opt for white patent leather shoes.

:yeahthat: That was my exact thought. But then our church (Roman Catholic) is very conservative and Baptisms are a pretty formal ceremony. I have friends who were baptized in other churchs and their events were much more casual.

On that note, I love the dress, it's really pretty, but I would have aimed for something with sleeves. Or, I'd make sure she was wearing a white cardigan with it. Again, I'm pretty conservative, so YMMV.

I would do a silver mary jane. I think the black would be too dark and I agree with PP the sandals aren't dressy enough. You will be surprised with how many things the silver shoes will go with afterwards too.
pretty cheap and free shipping with red card: http://www.target.com/p/toddler-girl-s-circo-dedra-sparkle-flat-assorted-colors/-/A-13774179
A lot nicer but not as cheap: http://www.zappos.com/naturino-falcotto-186-sp11-infant-toddler-silver

Something about the white sandals didn't seem right. I guess that's why! I do want it to be more on the formal side, so I'll see how the black patent leather look with it when it arrives.

Funny that you mention that about the sleeves. Where I grew up, we wouldn't dream of wearing sleeveless to church. But now we live in the south and everyone wears sleeveless everywhere (church included.) But I have a white cardigan that we'll bring along if it's cooler outside. :)

For something like a wedding I'd go with the black patent or a silver or gold shoe. But for a Baptism I think white patent leather or pearl leather would be a better choice.

The black might work but I think a soft silver or gold would look great.
