Feel free to add if your child NAPS or not.

DD usually naps only 1-3 times a week (7 days). It is REALLY frustrating.

glad to read the other posts and know I'm not the only one.

DS2 falls asleep around 9 (we start earlier than that). He sleeps until 7:30-8 am, and then naps from 12:30-2:30 or so.

My little guy is 3yrs 5 months, and he goes to bed around 730 (and wakes around 7) and does not nap. I usually use his temperament to determine if the amount of sleep he is getting is enough. If he's having melt down after melt down and just not dealing well during the day, I know that we need to begin an earlier BT. So far, 11.5-12hrs per day seems to suit him just fine and he's a joy to be around most days!

9-10. When we started preschool, it was between 8-9.

Everybody goes down before 7:30. Laurel naps about 60-90 minutes, depending.

DS typically goes down 7-7:30 and wakes up 8-8:30 am. He is only napping occasionally, and when he does it ends up being for 2-3 hours. On those nights we put him down around 8, but he doesn't fall asleep until around 9:30.

DS is 3.5 and goes to bed at 8 if he naps, 7 if he doesn't. Usually gets up at 6:30 if he napped the day before, 6:00 or earlier if he didn't. I probably should put him to bed earlier if he doesn't because he's still cranky when he wakes up and he gets up earlier but that's the soonest we can get him to bed. Sleep very much begets sleep for him!

well, i voted 8-9 (it's usually around 8:15), but that's only bc the kids have swim lessons requiring us to leave around 3pm, so they must nap from 1-3pm. if they go to bed later they'll wake up later, and won't want to nap until 2pm, and i want them to get at leats 2 hr nap.

before they were in swim class, the kids would always go to bed after 9. the awesome thing was that they would always wake up after 8am..sometimes even 9am. they would nap from 2-4pm. sometimes DS (2.5) would wake up at 5pm!

ironically, my older DC (2.5yo) is a better napper. this weekend he napped for 3 hrs one day. My DD (16mo) is not as great a napper. somedays she only naps 45 mins and she's done. she just requires less sleep. 99.99% of the time she is awake before DS wakes up from his nap, even if i put her to bed 20 mins after him. I'm fairly certain by 2.5 she will be completely done with naps.

Dd (2 1/2) usually goes to bed when I do.. Which is very late around midnight or later. Hubby falls asleep around midnight. I usually stay up reading and she plays with toys or plays games on the iPad. Sometimes she likes me to read aloud from whatever I am reading. I am a SAHM now, but even when I worked 50+ hours per week she was a night owl. She generally does not nap.

Ideally DS2 (3 yrs old) would go to bed at 8pm, but lately it's been around 9pm or later and he's been taking 20+ minutes to fall asleep. He does nap every day, but since starting preschool 3 weeks ago he's been going down to nap later than I'd like since he doesn't get home till around 1:30pm and usually doesn't fall asleep till 2:30pm. Before preschool he was going down around noon every day. Since he's napping so late (I usually wake him at 4:30pm to go pick up DS1 from camp) it's affecting his night time sleep since I just don't think he's tired till later. Once DS1 starts school again in the fall I hope to get things smoothed out better and get him to bed by 8pm again (which is DS1's bedtime during the school year).

Glad to see I'm not the only one who's preschooler is going to bed late!

During the school year DD3 goes to bed around 8 or 8:30. Her bedtime has been closer to 9:30 this summer, because we are outside until later. We just got back from vacation and her schedule is really screwy. She does take a nap every day. Usually 2-3 hours starting at 1:00 pm. If we are out and about around her nap time and she does not get one, she is very cranky in the late afternoon. My DS stopped napping a couple of months ago. DD1 and DD2 both stopped napping consistently around age 2, so I feel your pain.

Dd2 is 2.5 and goes to bed at 7:30 and naps 1-2hrs more often than not. She's up 6-7 am. Once school starts we may move that back to 7 as she needs to be up by 6 am.

DS is 3.5. He almost always has some sort of nap during the day. I can tell when he doesn't have a long enough nap!!! Nap or not, cranky or happy, he falls asleep around 9:30-10:00pm. It doesn't matter what time we start our bedtime routine or when he gets into bed. That is when he falls asleep. We've moved the beginning of bed time later to save ourselves hours of bedtime angst. Now he gets into bed by 9 at the latest. He falls asleep within the hour.

Whew some of you with 2.5yo that aren't napping scared me. I need that nap to get things done. DS1 is only 24 months but goes to bed at 8pm, sometimes talks for a while before falling asleep. Wakes around 730-8 but plays quietly in his crib for a while before wanting to get up. He naps for 4 hours after lunch. He was not a napper when he was younger though, didn't nap at all really until 15 months.

My 2 yrs, 3 months DD definitely naps, like 2.5 hours at daycare (1.30-4 pm), about 1.5 hours when she is home (1.30-3 pm). She doesn't get to sleep till well after 9, usually around 9.30 pm. On a good night, she sleeps through till 7 or 7.30 am.

2.5 year old naps from 2:30--5:30. She talks about 20-30 min. so sometimes I put her down at 3:00 but she takes a good 2 1/2 nap, at the very least.
Bedtime is 9 pm. DH wants it so that he can have some time with the kids after he comes home otherwise it's just dinner and bedtime for the kids. DD wakes up at 8 am.

We start the bedtime routine about 7. DD is usually asleep by 8, or at least being QUIET by 8. But some nights it's closer to 9.

It's all over the place right now, depending on if he has napped. With a nap, after 9 pm. Without a nap as early as 6:30 pm. Unfortunately if he falls asleep for as little as 20 or 30 minutes, that seems to be enough to keep him up. DH has been out of town a lot which has complicated things - DS gets really over excited when DH comes home from a trip late in the day.

Bedtime for both kids usually about 7:30 (but can be as early as 7 or as late as 8 occasionally). Both kids are usually asleep within 10 minutes or so. Both usually wake up between 6:30 and 7.

DS (2) still takes a big nap each day from about 12:30-3:30. DD (4) has done an hour of quiet time each day for the past year or so (only falls asleep occasionally if we've had a really busy am or didn't sleep well the night before).

DD2 is 27 months old and right now because it is summer she is in bed most nights between 7:30 and 8. She usually wakes up between 6:30 and 7 during the week, and 7 and 7:30 during the weekends. During the school year it will most likely be between 7 and 7:30, but sometimes that is really hard because we don't get home until around 5 or 5:30. At the same age DD1 was in bed between 8 and 8:30 and no matter when she went to bed was up between 6 and 6:30.
