What do you recommend or read regularly?

I have a few books from the 100 Acre Series - Winnie the Pooh, and they seem pretty good.

thanks

The Berenstain Bears books typically have an underlying message about manners, morals or health. Some do have a definite religious slant. Ds loved them.

We have started using the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids books with my 2 1/2 year old. She likes them.

My DDs got a kick out of Do Unto Otters (http://www.lauriekeller.com/books/otters_01.html) by Laurie Keller and I thought it was great as well.

We have this little set of hard-page books that have the sesame street characters. I think there are 4 in the set. One is manners, one is sharing, one is about friends, one is taking turns (?) I have found myself asking the kids, "what would Grover or Bert do?" LOL! The little stories just seem to get to the point and my kids have understood them. Couldn't fine the link though.

This is a great thread!
I'm not sure if these fit the bill exactly, but I will suggest the One Smart Cookies: Sweet Little Life Lessons (http://www.amazon.com/One-Smart-Cookie-Bite-Size-Lessons/dp/0061429708/ref=pd_sim_b_3), Sugar Cookies (http://www.amazon.com/Sugar-Cookies-Sweet-Little-Lessons/dp/B003MAJNH6/ref=pd_sim_b_2) and Christmas Cookies (http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Cookies-Bite-Size-Holiday-Lessons/dp/0060580240/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344790647&sr=8-1&keywords=Christmas+Cookies) books by Amy Krouse Roshenthal.

I have always used Manners Can Be Fun by Munro Leaf in my classroom. They are simple and give reasons for manners. My classes have found them quite engaging. The books are old. He wrote the Story of Ferdinand.
