What kind of cutlery do you put in your DC's lunchbox? Do you have special cutlery or do you just send your typical flatware? Do you use disposable forks and spoons?

We have camping sets and send those in both DH's and DS's lunches.

We use the Sistema portable flatware. I picked up a couple of sets from Old Navy. I just pack M a spoon or fork if he needs it as opposed to the whole set.

We have some spoon on one end/fork on the other end we will use this week. They came from the corelle outlet and fit inside boxes easily.

I didn't send a lot of stuff that required cutlery. (DS buys lunch now.). But when I did, I have a few bits and bobs of silverware that isn't part of our set and I would send those. Or I would send plastic forks from the delivery food we had around--they were small so they fit nicely. Ds knew he was supposed to bring them home and I would wash and reuse them.

I send disposable plastic forks and spoons. They get lost and thrown away too often for me to spend any real money on them. Generally they bring them home, but sometimes they don't. One or two boxes of each generally lasts the entire school year.

Plastic forks accumulated from take out places (they are usually smaller as crl mentioned and therefore fit better in lunch bags) or plastic forks/spoons I buy for our house. Our kids bring them back to wash in the dishwasher, but if lost or broken it's no big deal to replace.

I bought some inexpensive silverware from Target that we use for camping and in lunches. If it gets lost, no big deal. Although, we haven't lost any yet.

The silverware was $2 for a 4-pack of one type, so 50 cents each.

We have a bunch of Light My Fire sporks (both the little (http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___82822) (no knife edge and smaller) & the regular (http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___82793?cm_vc=PDPZ1)) from reusit.com and amazon.com that have been great stocking stuffers at Christmas. Usually DDs and DH use those. We also have some stainless steel cutlery sets (http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___80844) from when I went to Girl Scout Camp as a kid (!) that are still hanging around and the girls use those as well.

:yeahthat:
I used to send regular cutlery but the kids would accidentally throw them away. Only disposable now.

Melissa, where did you find these at Old Navy?
