LL Bean Softpack Coolers, which size?

I can check them out IRL this week, but family of four, typical day trip. Several bottles of water, sippies, a few sandwiches etc.

Which size? The personal looks like it might be a good school lunchbox for DS1; does anyone was the midsize?

What if you have ice inside, does it drip through?

We have the picnic and family size. Family is huge, and we take it on vacation. Actually we always take both. The picnic takes 4- 5 divided containers so we use that all summer when we take lunch out with us. We don't use ice, but rather just cold packs.
