Has anyone seen any pencil boxes that are larger than the standard $1-2 ones you see at Walmart & Target. Last year, I found a long pencil box for my DS, but it's not in good enough shape to be used again. I know one of the little boys in his class had a large box that was square, plastic, and very similar to the standard ones, but was 50-75% larger. They require the kids to have boxes (not zippered bags) and I'd really like to find a larger one to accomodate all of the supplies.

There are some on Amazon that are 8.5x5.5x2.5. Is that large enough? I've been looking for a larger one as well to hold DS's growing crayon and marker collection.

Staples carries one that is longer, but same width as the standard ones.

I found a larger one at Michael's last year. Our kids needed something for their "art box" at school and it was perfect. It's about 12" by 8" and about 3" thick, with a handle that's built in. They held up through the year - one is missing a clasp, but since there are 2, it still works and he's going to reuse it this year. I think they were around $4.

Thanks...I hadn't thought about Michaels and I'll check Staples again. I think the ones on Amazon are the standard size

I found a larger pencil box last year at Target. DS1 was able to hold all his school supplies in it (pencils, erasers, 10 pk twistable crayons, highlighters, scissors, glue sticks, dry erase markers etc). I saw them this year as well. It had a colored top (light blue or green or pink) with a clear bottom with a flip top lid. I think I paid 3-4$ for it. hth

We found a larger pencil box at The Container Store.

My 7 yr. old son wanted a bigger box to fit all his stuff.

The pencil box is not an "official" pencil box. It is made
for food storage but it works perfectly for us.

I have uploaded some pics for you to see.

Edited to add: By the way, I only have my son's pencil box about halfway filled. I can still put tons of stuff in there!

Corie, what size is the box? On the bottom does it say how many ml/oz it holds? Thanks!

I also found their website listed on the bottom too.

Thanks! I am going to order one of these. I had been looking at Bento boxes online to see if those would work but this is perfect.

Just an FYI, the scissors pictured in my son's box are the 7 inch
student Fiskars. (to give you a better size reference when looking
at the above picture)

I saw a large pencil box at Target today. It was a Sterilite brand for $2.99. Dimensions were 11.something x 7.something x 2.something inches.

I think it's this one: http://www.sterilite.com/SelectProduct.html?id=441&ProductCategory=198&section=1
