DD swallowed earring backing should I be concerned?

Why in the world my 9 year old put an earring back in her mouth is beyond my understanding, but should it pass through her system? Should I call the doctor or be concerned? They were silver earrings, gift she got tonight from grandparents. It was the little metal backing she swallowed.

My DS swallowed his front tooth last night and my DH, a doctor, wasn't at all concerned and said it would pass. The earring backing should be no problem (in my non-professional opinion :wink2:).
