We may have a change up after looking at double strollers today in Buy Buy Baby.

Maxi Cosi car seats instead of Chicco Keyfit 30
It turns out chicco car seats are not very stroller compatible. The fabric is also scratchy. Getting in and out of the base was very easy though and we liked the weight limit.

Bugaboo Donkey Twin
IS AMAZING! Ridiculously expensive but it checks every box (infant to toddler use, reversible seats, adjustable handle, amazing push, the best maneuverability of ANY double stroller.) We actually got a chance to push a 3 and 4 year old around the store and had a great ease of use. Huge foot print but not a deal breaker. Fits through a standard door!

iCandy peach stroller
Great inline for twins! We liked that two car seats could snap in facing the parent. Two bassinets can also be used but looked complicated.

Maclaren Twin Techno - Great travel stroller

We are going to skip the double snap and go. After trying it out we decided we both hated it. It has an awful push, terrible maneuverability, and that was it EMPTY. I cant imagine it holding two big babies but I guess for the price it would be worth it for some families on a budget.

I don't have twins, but I'd advise you to look at the Cybex Aton car seats instead of the Maxi Cosi. They use the same adapters for strollers. The Maxi Cosi is not a favorite in terms of install, etc. The Cybex is amazing except for the crappy canopy. I have a Bugaboo Bee and snap it in with the Maxi Cosi adapters. It also fits small babies very well.

A friend has the Donkey and I think it's a great stroller, I would totally get one if I had twins or closely spaced kids. You could also look at the Valco Spark Twin and the Stroll Air my Duo (both have reversible seats).

On your OP you mentioned Bundle Me's for the car seats, that's a big no-no, they're ok for the stroller seat but are unsafe in the car seats since they interfere with the harness (same reason you should not put bulky coats on kids in car seats, they can compress in an accident and the harness would be too loose to protect the child). For car seats you should look at shower cap style covers, JJ Cole has one (http://www.amazon.com/JJ-Cole-Seat-Cover-Pink/dp/B003ZUXQY4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pdT1_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=OERVQY8SR3AE&coliid=I1WF919O42XQRU).

For bouncers, I really prefer the Fisher Price Rainforest. Everyone I know who had two, or one at home and one at the parents that was different, just wished they had all of the Fisher Price Rainforest.

I never used a mobile and think they are not worth it. (I did buy one but it was a waste).

I would not buy too many of one bottle. Every baby likes/needs different things and you should try out a couple. FWIW, I tried a bunch and DD (and I) prefered the Playtex drop ins. For twins, I would think the ease of cleaning would make it a must have.

Car Seats: I don't have twins, but my friends who do have twins all have the Chicco KFs. They are supposed to be good for smaller babies. I have heard awful things about the Maxi Cosi. Terrible install, kids grow out of them very fast. Wouldn't be my choice.

Carseat covers: Beware of the JJ Coles. Many go between the baby and the carseat which is not considered to be safe. The best covers are the shower cap style covers that go over the carseat, not under the baby.

Bouncers: Correct me if I am wrong, but the bjorn doesn't vibrate right? Both my girls preferred the seats that vibrated.

Baby Monitor: How much wireless stuff does she have going on in her house? We are really tech heavy in our house and the only monitor that worked was the Sony Baby Call

Love the Rock N Play Sleepers and Arms Reach Co-Sleepers

High Chairs: I would look for something easier to clean than that. If your friend wants something High End, the Stokke Tripp Trapp or one of the Boon chairs are a lot easier to clean. The crevices on the Graco style high chairs are a PITA. I personally prefer the Fisher Price Space Saver seats.

Bottles: Don't buy a lot. You never know if your baby will like a particular set of bottles. Some people have to try a lot of different ones. Also she may want a bottle warmer. Is your friend going back to work? If so, I love my microwave sterilizer for cleaning the bottles after daycare. I also like to have a drying wrack for the bottles because they never come out of the dishwasher or the sterilizer dry. Nipples of different flow speeds too if she wants to be thorough and a brush for cleaning the bottles.

Baby wash: Check some threads there has been some recent hub bub about California baby changing its formula.

I think car seats are still up in the air. We really liked chicco but they dont fit into many strollers we will add cybex aton to the list of products to research thank your for your suggestion!

She only wants one side by side stroller to begin with and if they grow out of the bugaboo donkey we have the Valco spark on our list!

Agree about car seat safety we thought they all went over the outside of the seat we will be sure to fix that on her registry to make sure they are the over the car seat kind. Thank you!

To be honest I think she just likes the styling of the baby bjorn.

All of my charges (I was a nanny and certified new born specialist) LOVED the infant stim mobile. Its black and red with cards you can switch out with colors when baby is older. Only 20 bucks and provides something interesting for baby to look at.

Agree all babies may like different bottles Born free are the ones we are going to try and hope work first!

Agree with pp's- a vibrating bouncy seat trumps a stylish bouncy seat with no vibes! Vibration on= where my babies napped when they weren't in my arms! Couldn't have done without it.

I think the Tiny Love mobiles are fantastic. The toys are angled in a way that the baby sees contrasts. The music box plays for a nice long time and can be used long after you have to take the arm piece off. It was our favorite.

Agree about chicco just wished they were more stroller friendly. You will use a car seat for a year if you are lucky. A stroller for 3+. We played with a few of them and Maxi fit into the bugaboo donkey and iCandy peach. My friend is against the use of car seats outside of cars but having twins in the winter I think it will be impossible not to.

Agree about safe shower cap style bundles. We will register for those!

Baby bjorn does not vibrate but they last forever (2+ years as opposed to 6 months) and bounce with the baby motion which we like. She will also register for a vibrating seat we are thinking snug a bunny by fisher price.
Only because everyone we talk to talk about vibrating seats!

She really wants a video baby monitor the motorola gets the best reviews on amazon. If it does not work we will look into the sony baby call but I dont believe it has a video option.

I like fisher price high chairs she just really fell in love with the graco pattern. The new graco high chairs get amazing reviews so maybe graco finally made a high chair as easy to clean as fisher price.

Trying one set of bottles first and hoping for the best. lol. I think sterilizers are a huge waste if you have a dishwasher so I think we will skip that. Like the boon grass bottle rack (can use it for wine glasses after baby)

Honestly it seems like the internet hates all baby wash. We just picked that one out of exasperation.

Thank your for your great suggestions and reply!

:yeahthat: The cybex aton actually has a winter footmuff designed for the aton but I am not sure if it sells in the US. Maybe regal lager (the US distributer) could tell you where to get it in the US. They have great customer service and are very responsive to email. I got the aton and am having a December baby but I just plan on using good old fashioned blankets.

Since I have another baby I have also been looking around for cool new baby products and these are the ones I have my eyes on.

Blooming Bath (http://www.amazon.com/Blooming-Bath-Baby-Turquoise/dp/B007S1T42O): I like the look of the puj tub too and I haven't use either so I can't compare but this bath looks so snuggly and cute, I couldn't resist putting it on my registry.
Snuzzler (http://www.amazon.com/Kiddopotamus-Snuzzler-Complete-Support-Ivory/dp/B000DZS720): This is inexpensive but I think its a nice thing to have for those in between days when you want to put them in the stroller seat instead of a bassinet or car seat.
Boon spoon for plum organics (http://www.amazon.com/Plum-Organics-Dispensing-2-Count-Packages/dp/B003L4BV5U): My dd loved the plum organics as on the go snacks. Love the idea of this spoon to make feeding even easier.
Boon baby food masher (http://www.amazon.com/Boon-Mush-Manual-Processor-Tangerine/dp/B004KPTIQI): I already have a blender that works just fine for making super smooth purees but this looks like a nice tool to make some chunkier baby foods and I could use it during nap time.
Boon Winter Grass Countertop Drying Rack (http://www.amazon.com/Boon-Winter-Grass-Countertop-Drying/dp/B0032G9E0G): Looks cool and there is always some sort of baby product that needs drying.
Nosefrida (http://www.amazon.com/Nosefrida-The-Snotsucker-Nasal-Aspirator/dp/B00171WXII): So gross but I have heard nothing but incredible things about it.

This baby is my third and these are the items I have been using since being a first time mom:

Moby: Love it and could not live without it! I know there is a twin hold in the directions so I would definitely recommend it to your friend.
Baby Swing: Mine is batter operated only. I wish I had the option to plug it in or use batteries.
Baby Bouncer: I wish I had chose a more neutral pattern that fit more into the home decor and didn't scream baby so much but there weren't as many options when I had my first.
Medela PIS: Still going strong.
Medela hand pump: Love my hand held pump. I keep it in the diaper bag so I am prepared at all times and it works great on airplanes and similar travel.
Gumdrop pacifiers: Love these! I bought mine directly from Hawaiian Medical but I believe they are available at retail locations now.
Fisher price space saver chair: I like it, its well designed but if I had to do it over I might pick something fancier like a tripp trapp or something similar.
Sophie the Giraffe: Incredible teether, it really is as awesome as everyone says.
Play gym: Easiest item to bring over to homes where no kids live. Throw it on a carpet and baby has a place to play while adults can talk. We didn't have a fancy one, no batteries necessary, kids loved it all the same.
Blankets, towels, washcloths, burp cloths, etc: Only the nicest of these stick around. I would be very particular about registering for quality ones aka skip the gerber towels and washcloths they are too thin but their cloth dipes work great as burp cloths although they aren't very cute. I might also think about just registering for toddler towels and skip the tiny infant ones altogether.
Baby leggings: Adorable on boys and girls and make diaper changes a breeze. A nice onesie and baby legs are perfect for all those around the house days.

That's all I can think of for now. HTH!

We do like the cybex aton car seats! They are lightweight, have excellent crash ratings, rated for babies as small as 4lbs and fit the maxi cosi car seat adapters which are available for the bugaboo donkey and the iCandy peach.

I know right. I am kind of in love with it. Can't wait to start using mine (still have over 3 months to go). I don't have a base yet, just the seat. I am hoping I can find a sale on the base in the near future. I practiced installing it in the car with no base and had it rock solid in under 30 seconds on my first try! It was incredible and I was so in love! Considered skipping the base all together but DH wants us to have one and it will be December so he is probably right. I am definitely not going to worry about getting one for the second car though its just too darn easy to install without one.

Obsessed with finding more info about it but its just too new. Looks like its crazy expensive... as in I could buy a luxury, reversible stroller for the same price. Which unfortunately means I probably won't let myself buy one although I really, really want to.

My twins are nearlly 5yo now so some of these brands/makes I am not familiar with. But I would suggest waiting before buying 2 swings. Some babies don't like them. You might want to just buy one and decide if you need another.

Also, high chairs take up a LOT of room. It might make more sense to get one or 2 boosters that can attach to regular dining room chairs that can convert from high chair to booster seat.

Honestly, I have no experience with the strollers mentioned other than the double snap and go. I LOVED it. Yes, it was hard to steer, but the bottom basket was huge and I could put the BIG boxes of diapers in there and pretty much everything I needed while at Target. So, my suggestion is to either A)get a stroller with a huge basket so you don't have to push a stroller AND a cart with your purchases or B) get a double stroller that pushes one-handed so you can push the stroller with one hand and pull a shopping cart behind you with another. I loved the double SNG because it was so easy and fast to snap baby out of carseat carrier into the stroller. With infant twins, easy and fast are CRITICAL. Plus, the DSNG is cheap!

Oh, my other suggestion is to check weight restrictions on the Arms Reach cosleeper vs. a pnp with bassinet attachment. IIRC, one of them has a weight limit of 15 lbs so it couldn't be used for very long with twin infants.

We really like our Cybex Aton, it seems so much comfortable for DD the the Graco seat seemed for DS. I can actually carry it, too, I NEVER carried the Graco since I found it so heavy and awkward. Also it has a high weight limit but it's compact so there's enough space left behind the front seats to recline them or slide them back for a tall driver/passenger. DD left the hospital at 5 lb 14 oz and she fit really well in the seat. Oh, and I love the fabric, not sweaty at all (we have the Aton plus, but the regular Aton has nice fabric, too)

We only had 1 swing (only one baby liked it) and as for bouncers, the vibrating feature did NOTHING to help us. Totally depends on the baby.

I wish we had 2 nap nannies - having a place to put babies after nursing or eating (esp if they fell asleep) was essential.

Car seats and strollers are very personal choices. I really liked our double snap n go but I know people frown on keeping babies in car seats. But for me it really enabled me to make quick grocery trips with them.

High chairs - definitely get something easier to clean. Either the Healthy Care boosters, or tripp trapps, or IKEA high chairs (which is what we used and were very happy with, esp since they didn't take a extra adult chairs like two boosters would). With twins, the easiest-to-clean high chairs you can find will go a long way towards your sanity.

I don't remember if this was on your list, but a large playmat was nice to have. We used the one from IKEA which was plenty big enough for non-mobile twins.

Loved the tiny love mobiles - great for keeping one twin occupied while doing diaper change, bath, or whatever with the other twin.

LOVED my Bjorn Babysitter bouncer! No, there's no vibrating feature, but I preferred that my baby had control of the motion/bouncing in the bouncer. She loved it. It was invaluable. She sat in it while we got to eat breakfast/lunch/dinner. And yup, it's rated to 50 lbs., so at 16mo, she STILL climbs into it! Two thumbs way up!  (And even though it's vastly overpriced, I do recommend the $40 wooden toy (http://www.amazon.com/BabyBjörn-080500US-BABYBJORN-BabySitter-Wooden/dp/B001HX4DNE/) to go with it.)

I love the Puj tub & Primo Eurobath combo. That's exactly what we did and it was perfect. DD has always loved (felt safe & secure) during bathtime. (If you're looking for bath toys, I also love Skip Hop's Dunck toys (http://www.amazon.com/Skip-Hop-Dunks-Stacking-Yellow/dp/B0041RRX6M/) -- sturdy, colorful, functional for rinsing, and no risk of harboring mold like traditional bath squirters, eww!)

For baby wash (http://www.earthmamaangelbaby.com/angel-baby/angel-baby-shampoo-and-body-wash.html) and diaper cream (http://www.earthmamaangelbaby.com/angel-baby/angel-baby-bottom-balm.html), I much prefer Earth Mama Angel Baby's stuff, but I'm sure that's difficult to register for.

For swaddles, I loved the Summer Infant SwaddleMe (http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Swaddleme-Microfleece-Large/dp/B0009QYTIE/). I got it in fleece, so it won't stretch out like the cotton would. For a time, we did use A&A blankets... but the velcro of the SwaddleMe eventually won out because it was simpler. ;) As a toddler, DD now sleeps with 2 layered A&A blankets, which I think is the perfect weight and warmth for her. They're wonderful blankets.

As a PP mentioned, high chairs take up a lot of real estate. We have the ever-popular Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster (http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Healthy-Deluxe-Booster-White/dp/B001GQ2RWQ/) and love it. Because it's strapped to a dining room chair, I really feel like it blends in a lot better with our decor. Travels well and wipes down easily. Plus, it's cheap!

Loved the My Brest Friend nursing pillow. The Boppy didn't work for me. A nursing stool is definitely a smart idea... wish I had gotten one!

Lastly, I'll recommend the Leachco Podster (http://www.amazon.com/Leachco-Podster-Sling-Style-Infant-Lounger/dp/B003HIXOTQ/). It's sort of like the newborn Boppy lounger (http://www.amazon.com/Boppy-Newborn-Lounger-Seed-Row/dp/B002WDAW5Q/), but this one is a bit larger, so you can use it longer. I didn't register for a swing (some babies really don't care for them), so this is where DD slept most of the time. She always slept so peacefully in it! It cradled her perfectly. Easy to move from room to room. No music and no batteries required. Definitely one of my "must-have" baby products!

JessK87- you are a great friend!! Expecting twins is excited and scary at the same time. You guys have a great list going for you... I will reply on items I've used and add ones that were also helpful to me (mama to 1 yr old boy/girl twins and 3 yr old boy)
Car seats - Chicco 30 - yes!!

Boppy Noggin Nest Head Support - Avoid flat heads from car seats and provides great head support in the Chicco car seat. Twins will probably spend a bit more time in car seats than singletons.

Stroller(s) - Baby Jogger City Select (my 3 yr old loves it too). Can be heavy in and out of the car and you will want to remove car seat adapters to fold, but it's a been a great stroller for us. I love that I can just have one stroller in the trunk and it will work in any situation (with all three -twins in seats, older on glider board), (just two kids- both seats or a seat and a carseat), or for only 1 (just attach one seat).

Swings - my twins didn't prefer swings - you may want to borrow one at first and then wait to purchase.

Bouncers - Baby bjorn babysitter balance!!!!!! YES!!!! This seat is the absolute best. The twins still use them at one year old and climb into them. I don't know what I would have done without these. I've spent many nights sitting in between the twins with one foot on each chair and bouncing them. Especially times when you wish you had four arms instead of two! Also so great for tandem bottle sessions. It folds flat and you can take it anywhere, and has 3 different reclines. During the newborn stage- I borrowed 2 vibrator bouncy chairs from friends (were awesome for the first 3 months and worthless for us after that as they out grew them so quick). If she has a large house it may be worth it to have 2 bouncers upstairs and 2 downstairs.

Baby monitor - The video monitor will be her very best friend. We have Summer Infant Baby Touch and have no complaints.

Marpac Sleepmate 980a - white noise machine if they will share a room (and black out curtains)

Humidifier - Pure Guardian Tabletop - that little guy puts out some good mist!

High chair - Whatever is easiest to clean - I have 2 Fisher Price Space Saver highchairs. They also recline for younger babies. I have the covers off for now, finger feeding twins make a serious :nono: mess. She will want a good broom and one of those dust pans with a long handle so she doesn't hurt her back constantly bending to sweep the dust pan full of food bits.

Bottles - Dr. Brown's

Bottle rack - Boon Grass Drying rack is the very best (get 2)

Ez nursing pillow! and 2 boppy pillows (these are easy to borrow) You can set the two boppy's between you to tandem feed with bottles. Or if she is nursing... on a large bed or on the floor next to a wall or couch to rest her back, set the boppys up to face you. Get all nursing supplies ready (make a pre stocked basket so you are ready to go) 2 rolled up receiving blankets for head props, burp cloths, lanolin, supplemental bottles, etc. Place one twin in boppy to the left, and one twin in boppy to the right. Strap on the nursing pillow. Sit down and get comfortable and unlatch bra. Pick up baby to the left and scoop onto twin pillow getting ready for football hold. Repeat for baby to the right. Latch baby left and then latch baby right. This gets easier with practice and she will want to have someone with her in the beginning.

Nursing stool - didn't need one, I would mostly tandem feed on the bed or the floor. Wait on this one?

Breast bump - medela hands free pump and one inexpensive medela hand pump. it's handy to quickly relieve engorgement in situations where it's not feasible to pump.

Bath- eurobath primo - yes

baby wash california baby - yes

bath kneeler - rolled up towel

Diaper pail - diaper genie

Diaper pampers swaddlers - yes (don't stock up on too many in NB size depending on their birthweight)

Diaper Cream - desitin creamy extra strength

Diaper Bag - Ju Ju Be Be Prepared in Black/Silver - fits all I need for a long day trip. Also get 2 "Be Quicks"... one for each baby so you can have all their personal necessities ready to go and you can stash those in a smaller bag or purse for quick trips out- yes

Gyms - one extra large gym or 2 regular sized gyms. We used Taf Toys Curiosity Activity Gym and Play Mat. Extra Large 59 X 39 Inch. It worked great.

Swaddle blankets aden and anais miracle blanket and sleep sacks - yes (at least 4 aden blankets per baby). Also preferred the velcro swaddleme for my twins although my oldest preferred the miracle blanket.

Also - suggest to have her interview and start a relationship with a good sitter now (before she's exhausted and too busy with the babies). It will be invaluable to her to have some reliable support. It will be harder to set up after they arrive. Even if it's just a few hours each week, or a monthly date night, it will be a wonderful blessing to her and good for the babies too.

Wish her good luck! She is gonna do great!!
