I got so much fantastic feedback on the dresses I asked about before but felt really cheap and haven't bought anything yet. None were an obvious "yes!!" and the wedding isn't til Feb. so I'm slowly considering choices. :) Anyway, I have this AT dress in that orange-y color that looks so flattering on:

Plus these shoes:

The wedding starts in 3pm in Southern CA. Place is casual, on the water. It isn't a black tie affair, for sure.

The dress is pretty but not sure it screams family wedding. But, maybe it could? What do you think?

I think it's perfect! I wore something similar to BIL's wedding this summer. Just dress it up with some jewelry. I love the shoes too!

I think that would work, esp. With the time and weather.

I think you've nailed it! That's the perfect dress and shoes for a SoCal wedding. Here I was preparing to give you links and blah blah, but that's really IT.

:yeahthat: perfect for SoCal. Team it with some jewellery, great shoes and a pashmina (will be little chillly in Feb by the water).

I'm so happy with the feedback- as is dh since it saves him money. :). Odds are, true to my form, I'll wind up frantically shopping 2 days before we go because I'll decide it's just not "it". Even greater odds that I'll shop for hours and talk myself out if buying something new. I always need a bit of panic and rush. :). I drove my mom crazy when I changed my mind on my prom dress the day before and did get a new dress!

I think you should just go with it. It's a great dress. If you want to run around, maybe you could look for some jewlery (and then show us what you got).

Not at all. I really like it. It is perfect for any season. I might look for a printed silk wrap as you might need it. It was on my list of dresses (the non petite version) to check out if I had no luck at Nordstrom Rack for my cousin's wedding last Friday. Orange is my favorite color so it is an immediate like for me. I like the shoes as well.

I bought this bracelet for the dress over the summer (I have the same bracelet in silver and think it looks cute). I could probably do better but it is on my maybe list:

I like this one too:

A bunch of bangles would be cute too but they tend to drive me nutty.

I'm not sure if a necklace would look good with the neckline. I was thinking about just doing more interesting earrings but I'm open to necklace ideas. I'd probably do earrings like this:

or a chandelier style.

I like the Limited bracelet. I wear my dress with gold filigree earings from the Limited. I think just earings and bracelet, no necklace. Gold is so pretty with that dress!

Your dress looks very pretty and appropriate for your SIL's wedding. I agree w/ Sally in not wearing a necklace with the dress b/c of the higher neckline. I love the cutout circle cuff bracelet that you provided a link for - it looks fun and it'd look nice w/ a pair of gold earrings.
