Those of us with iPhones and iPads, the new OS is ready to download. It will work on iPad 2 & 3 (and the 3 gets Siri). I believe that it only works on the iPhone 4 and 4s (no 3gs).

DH downloaded it earlier, and it has some nice features. Like in find my friends he can set it up so that it pings him when I get "home." I liked the look of the new maps too. There is supposed to be something else that is useful for kids, but I haven't downloaded it myself. Siri is supposed to be better too.

Let the downloads begin! Here is an article that might help you get ready. (http://img.ibtimes.com/www/articles/20120918/385397_ios-6-release-date-iphone-upgrade-features.htm)DH said he needed about 2 gigs free on his device to download it. (remember you can do it without being hooked up to a computer, just make sure you're plugged into an outlet).

I'm finally upgrading osX tonight too. They just released X.8.2, and it's supposed to resolve some battery issues that laptops were having AND it's got Facebook integration.

The FB integration is also one of the features of iOS 6 that I forgot to mention!

I downloaded earlier. So far so good. The map is cool, it shows which way you're facing, which is cool if you ever get out of a subway and think "now which way?" Still playing around. FYI, when they say plug it into a power source, do it. I started at 92%, and was down to 60% by the time it was finished.

Actually, according to Apple, it is compatible with the iPhone 3GS

Good. I was going from my memory on that (we don't have one ourselves).

My phone updated just fine and took ~ 2 hours or so. I'm getting the 5 on Friday though and trading my 4 in but I wanted to play w/ the new features!

My ipad 2 though wouldn't see my wireless network @ home so i restarted...hard reboot etc and finally, not sure what actually worked, but then it saw the network.

Updating an older 3GS phone now but had to remove a bunch of the itunes library to make room!

Don't get flustered!
