for DS' halloween costume, i need to find a way to basically cut a hole inside a very large styrofoam ball - large enough for him to step into and pull up around his body

any tips for how to do this without totally shredding the styrofoam? also, any ideas for where to buy a very ball?

thanks

You can buy a Styrofoam cutter, usually found around the Styrofoam and $10 or less. (It uses heated wire to melt the Styrofoam instead of a sawing/cutting motion)

What is your son going to be?

Electric knife or a serrated knife will work well. We used both when my parents owned an Xmas tree farm for some of the arrangements we did.

Eta: this was the green stuff, not white stuff, so my answer may be not helpful.

So the styrofoam ball needs to be big enough that your son fits inside? I don't think I've ever seen a styrofoam ball that big!
